Think that Romo would be able to survive behind the way that the O-line played today?

He's a very good QB no doubt about it, however, truly great QBs can play well without running games -- think Brady / Rodgers / Brees / etc.

In the Denver game and this game the running game wasn't there and Dak looked VERY average.

He is a much better player than many here would have you think was constantly say he is over-rated, but he isn't a top 5-10 QB quite yet IMHO.

The next 5 games will tell us a LOT.

Ok but who in the hell expected Dak to be Rodgers or Brady in year 2? Those guys weren't even Rodgers and Brady in year 2. Its like people wanted Dak to do what no other QB has done in history.

Dak just like every other QB in this league needs blocking. No, he doesn't need ALL Pro blocking but he at least needs a suitable left tackle out there. That part I will concede. He needs a starting left tackle out there and not have to run for his life. Especially in this offense.

how about the other games when zeke averaged under 4 yards a carry and we still put up 30?

If the O-line doesn't block, we won't be able to tell anything.

I should say, I think you should churn the quarterback position, like any position, until you are confident you have THAT GUY. So it's a compliment to Dak's play that I've been thinking maybe he is the guy in recent weeks. But if this is the level he is at over the next few games, we would be wise to look at other options. And if he proves himself against that competition, then fantastic.

Show me a qb that put up 30 points in a game where he was sacked 8 times

I was worried that Prescott would get Romo'ed by some of his team's fans. For some mysterious reason, some fans believe that ONE player...

a very good player...

even a possible elite player...

...can offset consistent coaching miscues and teammates' missed executions.

Why do some people see football as golf? I have never understood this.

This game is pretty much case in point IRT what I was talking about earlier in this thread. Dak is a good QB, no doubt, but he fits a role well complementing an all-pro RB and a great offensive line. Losing Tyron Smith+Zeke put a lot of pressure on Dak. But yes, most QBs wouldn't have done much better in the situation today, and yes, Dak isn't my main concern, and yes, Dak is a 2nd year QB.

He's no Brees, Brady, or Rodgers right now, but when everyone is playing, we don't need him to be. But I hope we got Tyron back.

With Zeke in there teams stack the box against the Cowboys. They know that first and foremost the Cowboys are a running team and then make stopping the run a priority.

That won't be the case over this 6 game streak.

I am going to be REALLY interest to see how Dak does. I am pulling for him. We are going to learn a lot.

Do you think Romo was an elite quarterback? Because he wasn't.

I think that Romo was a much better QB than a lot of people were willing to give him credit for. I think that Romo's best years were wasted on Garrett being the coach. From how he calls games you can tell that he has a lot of knowledge about plays before they happen. And Dak's best years will be wasted if Garrett is still the coach.

I think that Romo being on the coaching staff would help Dak, way more than keeping Garrett will do.

So anyways.

Like I was saying.

We need more to decide if Prescott is great.

That is two games with no Zeke.

And lo and behold, here we are.
