It has to be the coaching

I look at the talent on this team. Romo, Witten, Dez, Smith , Ferg, Carr, Ware, Lee , Carter ...etc. and we continue to lose games we should win.

Then you look at Seatle , KC , SF . Saints , NE. And see what coaching can accomplish. KC is no where near Dallas talent level. They are 4-0. Which is what Dallas should be. There is no excuse to be 2-2 with the schedule we had so far.

I was never a Garrett fan. Didn't feel he was ready to be a head coach. But I supported him. But we are just wasting time with him and his crew. There needs to be a change. obviously not during the season. Let Garrett finish the year. Maybe he can right the ship. But I do not want him back if he doesn't get to at least the NFC championship game. Winning this awful division means nothing.

Today's post game presser, he once again says "I thought it took us awhile to get going on offense and defense". This is not the first time he has made that comment. I'm sorry, but I hang that on the head coach. Having the team come out and be ready from the opening kick is a big part of his job as the head coach.

Hey, I thought he deserved to come back this year so I cant say much about it. But when this team does not come out ready to play- which is admitted in the coach's post-game presser- then I blame that directly on the head coach.

Yes it is as I wrote in another thread:

As many here have stated, Garrett may one day succeed in this league but sadly it will not be here. When he was hired I was thrilled. Little did I know we were about to be treated to watching the internship of a very green head coach. They took away the play calling and this is still a man with no plan, no feel for football situations, and no idea how to adjust. Exhibit A today? A 56yard FG attempt. Really? And his answer is we had the wind. I mean, if that doesn't take the cake I dont know what does. Next time just give the opponent 3 points.

It's always the coaching.

I say we keep rotating in fresh coaches and stockpiling cornerbacks until something sticks.

Or just hire a guy that is a competent head coach, with a successful track record as an NFL head coach.
Either way, I suppose.

The Dallas Cowboys franchise is not one where you should be allowing a head coach "to evolve and learn".
That may be okay in jacksonville, buffalo, san diego. But not the Cowboys.

Plus if Jimmy is such an influence on Garrett why is it that this team is often not ready to play out of the gate? Again today Garrett mentioned it took them a while to get going. I mean, how many years will this attitude be allowed to continue? I was once a loyal Garrett guy. Now I say the sooner he is gone the better. I know the Jones family is the number one issue. But do you really think if Gruden had this team that they would make the same mistakes over and over. I don't. Not anymore.

With Howdy Doody and Calahan at the controls we are doomed. Bring in a real coach. Pop gun offense.

Yes, Jerry is the biggest problem. However, because he's not going anywhere, we're stuck with finding a coach who can win in spite of Jerry. That doesn't appear to be Garrett.

Very true.

Here's a cheat sheet for the real state of the Cowboys. - How happy is Jerry? If he's large and in charge grinning to the media every day, they've got no shot. You don't even need to know who the coaches and players are.

I was intrigued by Garrett's potential as a head coach. Until I saw how comfortable Jerry was with him. Then I knew if he was ever going to be a successful coach it wouldn't be in Dallas.

Garrett is an average to poor coach. He's got pretty solid players, but can't get victories out of them. If the talent is not that good, he's part to blame for players he picked. Either way, this team, this franchise, is just not a championship caliber franchise.

It starts with the GM of the team. He is the one constant in all of this mediocrity since the late 90s. Someone should tell him he is not a competent NFL mind. Until Jerry Jones swallows his pride and hire a football mind, expect this mediocrity year in and year out. When was the last time the Cowboys hired a strong NFL headcoach and football mind? Bill Parcells? Jerry keeps hiring yes men to appease his ego. Too bad it's the fans that gets disappointed in the end every year. Jerry Jones is a curse to this franchise.

We just got beat.

It wasn't anyone's fault. San Diego was just better than Dallas today.

We have been getting beat often in the last 17 years. Miss the old days when we were a real team who everyone feared to play. These players have no heart and soul.

I just don't see the urgency, that comes from your coaching and leaders on the team....we seem to be lacking in both areas.
