It has to be the coaching

To be fair coaching and QB changes turn teams around quick in this league.

If you're strong at both of those spots you more than likely have a really good team.

We'll find out where our coach and QB stand at the end of this season. No excuses this time around.

Sure, but what is the point if we just trot the same core group of players out again. By all means, bring in a new coach, but I have no reason to suspect a different outcome with an aging and deeply flawed core.

do anyone believe in Callahan? He never makes adjustments to play calling during the games

At what point do you blame the players? The players that have so much talent need to step up and make a play when needed. These players had a chance to make this game different. Dez , Witten and Ware all made mistakes that helped this team lose. Key drops that would extend the drives, or a stupid off sides on 3rd and 2. Not sure what coach standing on the sidelines changes that. Guess its just easy to flame the coaches.

We do blame the players. Everyday all day, and players get fired, released, traded, etc every year. Although some players are untouchable and some coaches have 9 lives.

Callahan is terrible. Always has been. But with the weapons we have he should be able to mustar up about as much as Garrett has.

Yes, and he had enough of Jerry before he could finish what he came to do. Dont give me Bill Parcells. I mean, are you kidding me? Do you really wanna make a list of competent, successful NFL head coaches that Jerry hired compared to ones that werent??

If we could solve the problem of how to create big plays against these conservative defenses I think we'd be as good as anyone but the way teams defend Dallas just kill us.

I dont think we can be as good as anyone but i do think we can get better as the season progresses.

Rigth now my biggest concern is our defense. We cant stop the pass and we cant stop the run when we have to.
This Kiffin defense stands and falls with its pass rushers. And we have no legit pass rush.

OK lets give this Kiffin defense some time. Players need to find their roles.
The problem is: This wont happen this season. We also need players who fit the scheme. This will take another offseason.

I still dont understand why we booted Ryan and i do not think it was a good decission. Our defense played great football in the first 3-4 games last season before the injuries kicked in. To me everything started to click before the injuries and it looked very promising.

To be fair with Ryan: After Phillips everybody was screaming for a more complex scheme. Other teams were making fun of us because we were so predictable. Now when so many players get hurt you cant expect the same results when you have a complex scheme. Players need time to learn it. And we were forced to pick players coming of the couch/street.

You may not but if you look around the league it can't be ignored.

Here's the thing though: the coach with that kind of ability is going walk in here and immediately want to dump a lot of vets on the roster, and he's going to actively look to replace Romo, Ware, and Witten (among others) ASAP.

The coach that walks in here and tells the owner exactly what he wants to hear -- namely, that Jerry's done a great job of assembling this roster, and that he's the magic coach that can get it all to work -- is of the Wade Phillips/Jason Garrett variety.

Someone has to get Jerry's ear and tell him this team he's built is severely overrated. That's step one.

When Garrett was calling plays, we had trouble scoring points, but we used to move the ball well. Also give the defense some rest with maintaining time of possession. Out defense didn't have anything left after the first touchdown by SD in the second half. We needed our offense to hold the ball for 5-6 minutes, get a field goal to answer but he/Garrett can't figure out how to use Dez, this take what the defense gives crap is driving me nuts

See I don't know all of that stuff. If we're wanting to hire someone that wants to replace Ware and Witten then we're probably not bringing in anyone worth a flip.

For years on here i have read that all we needed was to straighten out the offensive line and the Garrett offense would really shine.

He was 'brilliant' in clearing out the deadwood on the o-line and clearing up our cap so we could move forward.

San Diego plays three backups on their line today and put up 500 and a 30 spot.

I can imagine the excuse making if Dallas were playing the Arkins and Parnells as starters today and we had lost.

San Diego fans were ready to run Rivers out of town last year, we write Romo a check for 100 million.

Coaching matters!

This has got to stop.

I think the Chargers are playing on the same level as the Chiefs. Maybe the Chiefs are a bit better. The both are good teams which will make it to the playoffs eventually.

I dont see us there. Rigth now we are a mediocre team with a tendency of being good at times.

AFC as a whole is better than NFC. Brady is playing with rookie & journeymen WRs and zip at both TE & RB, yet his offense is still humming and Pats are winning.

And the Terrence Williams apologists need to just stop.

Pretty much. The offense has been on a downward trend for years and the only constants are Romo and Garrett. We've been through the whole process of being more 'Romo friendly' Boy if we got rid of TO and eliminated any dissent in the locker room, we're sure to win! Same results. Boy if we get rid of that lazy, fat Felix Jones, we'll do better. Same results. Martellus Bennett.. Ugh, what a distraction and such a lazy player. Time for him to go. Same results.Boy if we draft O-line (2 1st rounders in smith and frederick), we'll do better. Same results.. We even got Garrett off the play-calling. Same results. The only two constants are Romo and Garrett. Who will take the fall for them this time around if the offense doesn't perform? Cut Terrance Williams? Fire Kiffen?

How much more talent do you think KC has than us? I would say, we are pretty equal. Fat boy Andy has them at 4-0 in his first year.

SF's talent level wasn't better than what we had when Harbaugh took over the team and he took them to the NFC championship game and the SB already.

Yeh I say it's definitely coaching.

Ryan was nothing more than a fall guy. The one that should have been canned was Garrett.
