"It look like they have successfully killed all of the Romo magic as well and now we have ourselves a bus driver.

Give me my Brett Favre Romo back and get rid of this Alex Smith style Romo."

Catch17 said this in another thread, and I thought it was so good that it deserved its own thread. This is so, so true.

I agree with you guys. But I would also add that maybe Romo as the bus driver would be effective if the mechanics that put the bus together, piece by piece, did a better job...so the parts were working and the bus itself was operating at full efficiency.

Agree with you as well. But too many here don't like that Romo either. They can't have it both ways....

I'm a huge Romo supporter, but I can't say they killed his magic, that last drive nearly every pass went to Witten, caught or not. Thats on Tony.

I prefer this Romo. Would I like him to throw down field more? Hell yeah. But his numbers are near career highs still with none of the turnovers. What we really need is THIS Romo but with plays designed to actually get YAC. Look at Denvers O. That is a dink and dunk offense but it gets insane YAC.

Just like in One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest where Nicholson becomes mentally neutered at the end, they took everything out of him.

Who is they? If there was in fact some Tony Romo Magic Killing, then I tend to think Tony Romo was a major player in it. It isn't like they are going to bench him after Jerry gave him that wad of cash.

Romo has made it a point not to force things. JG might have preached ball security, but he's the one on the field holding on for too long and trying to take the checkdown to avoid turnovers. The "they" you are referring to definitely includes Tony

So let me get this straight, without the "magic" he is 3rd in completion percentage, tied for 3rd in touchdowns, 4th in rating and 2nd in interception percentage... so WITH the magic, what he'd be on top of Peyton Manning right now? 17 TDs and 0 INTs? Is that how bad this team is, we need all-time historic QB play just to be competitive? And this is what Romo haters are on about now? How quaint.

I'm far from a Romo hater. I love him actually, and always support him. I just wanna see him air it out a little more. He's been fantastic this season. But we need to take some deep shots. He's become a dinker and dunker. I miss the gunslinger, but I love the lack of interceptions. So if we could find some sort of in between the gunslinger and the dinker, that would be great.

Well, if they would find a way to direct some of those short passes to Dez and Harris instead of Witten who can't run away from a sloth I would say it's possible.

Is "they" his receivers dropping key passes? If so I agree...would this lack of magic exist if Dez caught the ball in KC, the 3rd down ball on the sideline..Witten catching the ball that hit his chest...Terrence Williams' multiple drops and boneheaded play

I don't know maybe his passes have an opposite rotation on them and it's throwing them all off....

In preseason Romo threw the ball to Dez in coverage. I thought they had that special connection & were going to eat up Defense's all yr. Not the case! The Julio Jones catch was ATL trusting him to make the play.. So now Garrett doesn't want Romo to throw int's well how about throwing some TD's with balls on it. So yes Room looks like A.Smith, but at least Alex go's to Bowe in coverage.

Let me remind everyone that "Alex the bus driver" is 4-0.

Didn't some famous coach says if we don't turn the ball over then we can win 8 games just on that. Let the other team beat themselves.

Brady throws plenty of little short passes except his players makes YAC. Ours seem to just fall down. I don't even see Murray break many tackles off dump offs.

Bench him? For what, being top 3 in every major category but total yards? Seriously BENCH HIM? This may be the most absurd thing I've ever read on here...ever. Seriously, there isn't one fanbase in the history of football that wouldn't be over the moon with Romo's current production and here on the Zone we have people that want him benched?
