You can't tell what Jerry really wants by what he says. If he was really committed to Dak, he could have had him signed last summer or the summer before. But , instead, Jerry is worried about that 5th year of a contract extension. Seems odd.

Keep in mind that the Rams will be picking at the bottom of the draft. Those two 1s aren’t as valuable as they sound unless packaged to move up or if a team already has a qb.

The Lions are picking at #7 I believe. They could package those picks to move up in the draft or just go with Goff and use the picks to rebuild the team. Goff is halfway decent with a good team around him. And in 2 years Goff isn't going to get market value. The Lions will have extra money for the rest of the team.
