I'm excited for Dak, and cant wait for him to play. I'll still be excited for him after 4-5 games no matter how he preforms. He's done more now than any other rookie QBs. That's a successful season for a 4th round draft pick. The expectation for him is just too high right now.

Hey, I have to admit, I was a little skeptical of Dak Prescott especially while he was at Mississippi State. He has been proving me wrong ever since the Cowboys drafted him.

Here is to hoping he never stops proving me wrong.

You mean the best thing for Romo.

The best thing for this team is winning the superbowl regardless who is at the helm.
I think that would too much football to ask of a rookie......the rookie wall is very real 20+ games would be rough

Romo was with the team for 3 seasons before this stuff happened and the QB he was replacing hadn't led the team to a 75% win rate when he had played the previous two seasons.

In the end, I just want the Cowboys to win at that recently established rate...or better....whoever is the QB

Just like it did with Romo. Romo basically came out of nowhere. He looked great in preseason and some people started to get on board. Annoyingly so, like I am with Prescott. Seems waaaaay tooo early type thing.

And essentially what happens is that you get half the fans on the pre bandwagon and half the fans annoyed by the hype. And this is where the hatred all starts and the fans get divided.

Everyone should just get on the Dak bandwagon now so if and when he does succeed we dont have fans rooting against him just to be proven right. I see it happening all over again. Especially with the support for holding onto the Romo dream.
Nobody is rooting against Dak. Get out of here with that nonsense.

It appears you're the one who can't root just for the Cowboys and instead roots for the Cowboys as long as x, y and z thing happens that I like.

The Dakwagon hasn't gone anywhere yet. When it starts moving there are plenty of seats and everyone of us Cowboy fans can get onboard.

It's still sitting in the station.

I don't root for players so much as I do for the team as a whole.
Personally hope both qbs are successful.
Time and health will end the discussion soon enough.

Seriously? I'd love for it it to be Tony. Hell, I'll be thrilled if it's Dak. But I really don't give a crap who's behind center if we're winning.

What in the world are you talking about?

Where are these "divided" fans you speak of?

If anything, this is one time where Dak will pretty much have the full support of the entire fan base. He hasn't even had the chance to ***** anything up yet so people can start dumping on him.

If you're rooting against the QB of your team, then it's not your team

I'll root for Dak just as hard as ive always rooted for Romo

Unfortunately I know some fans personally that would love to be proven right.

Hopefully Dak can prove them wrong

Are these the same fans that wish Romo gets permanently injured so they can be proven right?

Quite possibly the worst analysis of the situation written yet. Wishful thinking doesn't equal thoughtfulness.

I bet you kneel for the anthem, too.

I have a difficult time calling them fans then. Morons or trolls would be a more fitting term. I hope Dak takes the job and dominates, never looking back from there. But I will admit a part of me will be disappointed that Romo didnt get his superbowl. I desperately wanted to see him prove all of the idiots wrong. In fact I wanted to talk massive amounts of trash and see what they would invent to diminsh his championship. But at the end of the day having the hier apparent is much more important.

Except that Dak is trying to dethrone a franchise QB, not really the same as 2007. I hope that he plays lights out(or at least shows that he belongs) and goes on to be our next QB for years but if he crumbles under the pressure, we still have Romo coming back sooner than later.

I pray that we don't see Sanchez for a string of games this season, let Dak play until he proves his ability one way or the other. If he is questionable, keep him in there until Romo can take over.
I don't think we'll see Sanchez unless Dak is injured. Regardless of our record the 2 QBs are Dak and Romo. IMHO, i think the coaches are smart enough to know that playing Sanchez would stunt Dak's development.

I think Dak would have to literally hand the ball off to the defense before he gets pulled. Unless he's injured, he's playing until Romo comes back. But that's my gut feeling/opinion. I could be totally wrong, the FO has surprised me several times.

If Dak starts 0-3 and looks pretty bad, I can see them turning to Sanchez until Romo returns to try and salvage the season. I am also not sure I would want Dak out there past that to get beat up on more and ruin what confidence he has left.

No clue though, signing Mark kind of leaves the door open for many options.

Dak is better than Weeden and Zeke will be better than any running back we have seen not named Emmett. This team had a few games last year without scoring a touchdown and still kept them close. Our winning percentage will be much better.
