It's October and the division is already lost

Maybe in a way this is a good thing. This season may painfully highlight shortcomings in personnel and coaching.

Even Jerry has to be wondering how his 13-3 team on the cusp of greatness just got lapped in 10 months by a division rival who stunk last year.
The only way they'll actually look in the mirror is if they're severally humbled this year. Any 7-9 or 8-8 type of season and they'll just blame it on the Zeke situation/rookies on defense.

At least then throw me a bone in the form of a new defensive coordinator.

Eagles play their next three games at home against winnable opponents. It's done and they deserve it. They went out and got Jernigan and Darby to add to an already stacked defense. Got Jeffrey on a prove it deal to help out their young QB. Their oline looks like top 3 in the league. Meanwhile we go 13-3 and get fat and happy. Benson Mayowa and Kyle Wilber are getting significant PT on this team. I'm totally disgusted in the front office. How do you not go for the jugular after getting so close last season?

Best thing they did was to clean house with Chip Kelly. Even though he had a winning record, after three years, they quickly realized he wasn't going to take them anywhere. We are at year 8 with JG and we are still talking about the process , bad defense and how to fix it for next year.

Swallow this little nugget, you have Jerry that will do what he does, overpay, too loyal and stubborn, my way the highway but then you now have his son who is the next owner set in the same kind of ways in the form of stubbornness. The kick in the rear, he’s not gonna pay free agents like Jerry would or his own pending free agents which was witnessed this last free agency. It looks like it’s gonna go from one extreme to the other OUCH

Let these ferals have the division and watch in joy as they lose their 1st playoff game and continue to burn cars in the parking lot. ;)

We are seriously not competing now with this start coupled with Zeke suspended and a horror schedule late in the season. Skins may push for a WC spot but Philly have the division already sewn up.

Garrett and Co. also stuffing up every decision on the sidelines they can, while we wallow in mediocrity still drinking our own bath water from last season and nothing will ever change with us.

Sad that i am looking towards next season already in Week 6 and hoping we have a high draft pick but it is a feeling that is not very uncommon as we are just to inept in so many different areas currently and things do not just fall into place after the year we had last season and you need to work twice as hard to better it, not go backwards and it makes me so angry.

I don't get how they're not in salary cap hell after all the splurges they've made in FA over the years.
Magic. Salary cap is a joke. We are worried about nickels and dimes and laugh at other teams when they go get free agents. The eagles sure did turn things around, while our "build through the draft" conservative ways have gotten us nowhere. Absolutely nowhere. I hate this freaking process.

SB teams always excel in FA and see the Pats for instance, they have no issues signing FA's from other teams and while the draft gives you the footing to a good SB chance ( If they all come on which is unlikely ) making the most of FA is where this league is won but on this board every FA is dud and not worth the $$$$ which is exactly why we have not played in a SB for over 2 decades and if you want quality coming in you have to pay for it and draft gems after the 4th Rd that magically turn into SB winning starters are less than 5%.

A good coaching staff helps also and this is one area we suck at and it is not pure fluke that some players are instantly better when moving to successful franchises and you need to have a nous in knowing how to get the best out of players even more so when they have been in the system a while.

The Patriots and many other teams that are always in the playoffs and making NFC/AFC Championship games are very well coached and have a great support cast.........

We have Garrett who is a woeful game day coach and literally no one after that.

End discussion!

I'm just tired of a lack of toughness. I don't expect the world out of this bunch, but dang just once step up and show some grit. Some of these games have been lost by so little I feel like some blitzing and sure tackling desire could have been the difference. This team desperately needs some guys in the linebackers who are just fundamental players. They dont even need to be probowl caliber, just guys who go to the ball and make tackles. Maybe it was a huge mistake expecting jaylon to be NFL ready to quick.
