It's October and the division is already lost

The division race is not over folks. Yes this team has underachieved thus far, but realistically, with a healthy Sean Lee, we are most likely 4-1.

Before any of you babies quote me and say im making excuses, think of a scenario before the season where someone told you we would be, with Sean Lee and Hitchens missing a few games? You all would say this defense is in trouble and the offense would have to pick up the slack...

No disrespect to the OP but not sure if you've played sports before. Gotta line up and play football. Injuries, suspensions, upsets change everything. I'm not saying that we don't have an uphill battle but you must line up and play football. Some team will go on a November run out of nowhere and some teams will fade into oblivion. Not predicting the future or saying everything is roses for us but football is unlike any other sport. Gotta line up and play. Everybody's cool win you're winning. What happens when the chips are down? This is when character is revealed. **** Philly was your heart and your pride?

First of all, the Hitchens thing is a bit much. People are acting like he's some big time LB. He's a nice backup, situational LB. Better than Smith at this point? Sure. But let's not act like we are getting one of the better MLBs in football back.

Lee is a big loss but good teams overcome big losses. If the defense completely and utterly falls apart because of Sean Lee being out, then that's a decent indication your team, or at least, your defense, isn't very good regardless.

I wouldn't sleep on Wash just yet as well. They look 10 times better than us as well. Until the HC changes here I'm not expecting anything more then frustrating season after season. Everyone is also so excited about Stephen to take over as well and his work has gotten us in this mess by front loading signing bonuses all these years and then going cheap in FA trying to always find those hidden gems!

Eagles play their next three games at home against winnable opponents. It's done and they deserve it. They went out and got Jernigan and Darby to add to an already stacked defense. Got Jeffrey on a prove it deal to help out their young QB. Their oline looks like top 3 in the league. Meanwhile we go 13-3 and get fat and happy. Benson Mayowa and Kyle Wilber are getting significant PT on this team. I'm totally disgusted in the front office. How do you not go for the jugular after getting so close last season?

No one is saying Hitchens is a big time LB. He is however way better than Jaylon, whom has been our biggest weak link on defense all season, especially these last two losses.

You and I are going to agree to disagree on Lee. You think he isnt that great and not top 3, or even start on Phillys defense for that matter.

We all know this defense has been terrible for a while now, but we have won the East 2 out of the past 3 seasons with Lee and Hitchens at LB.

If I hear another, "with Lee we are sitting at 4-1" post I'm gonna scream! What a load of crap. Gurley would have owned him as well. Anyone remember Lee against Denver? The dude is a stud but he's not Ray Lewis!

Why because we see *** is going on, how bad this team has been handled this off season? Truth hurts
Easy tiger, I didn’t say what side I was referring to.

You may have a persecution complex.

We’d be 4-1 with Lee.

Maybe 5-1 he’s so good.

Don't put words in my mouth. I never said Lee wasn't "great". He's one of the better LBs in football. But to say he's a Top 3 LB at this stage is just a bit much. And I said later in that thread that yeah, he'd start for Philly.

Regardless, the point stands. If Sean Lee is the difference between having a good defense or one of the worst in football, then you have bigger problems than Sean Lee. I mean Sean Lee was on the field when Denver torched us. So I don't really buy into this notion that we are back to 13-3 Dallas once Lee and Hitchens are back.

Dear Carson,

I have two questions about that game last night which left me very confused.

1. There was a play where Carolina had the ball and then the next play you guys had the ball, but there was no punt. What caused that?
2. I assumed there was a rule against a defense stopping and offense in the last two minutes. That could be a mistake based on experience only, but could you give me some details.

We would be 5-0 with Lee. Book it.

In the salary cap era, front office and coaching is the most important aspect for long term success. Is it a surprise we haven't reached a superbowl in 2 decades?
