It's October and the division is already lost

That player had microfracture surgery in High School. I would not have drafted him there.

He was also much less of a guarantee as a Star Player with near zero INTs in college.

Regardless of whatever negative things you can pull out of your trick bag he was widely regarded as the best defensive player in the draft. And the guy is balling for Jacksonville. Already one of the best corners in the league and leading the resurgence of what is now a top 2 defense in the NFL in my opinion.

I wonder if there were threads like this one in NFCN forums after the Vikes started 5-0 last season? I bet there were.

That Vikes team was fools gold though. They were getting by with mediocre offense and good defense. Usually teams that lopsided eventually start to show cracks. This Eagles offense is far more balanced and better than the Vikings one from last year.

Zeke is the superior player

The gap between the two isn't as great as some of you think.

And one of those guys won't likely be sitting for 6 games either.

This Cowboys team is a better team with Ramsey and then a Kareem Hunt or Howard as their TB.

The 6-game suspension talking point is weak. Ok he serves the suspension, then what? He comes back and dominates for the next 5-6 years.

On top of that, Ramsey is benefitting from the surrounding talent on that defense. Here with this weak zone that Marinelli runs, he wouldnt be near as effective.

That's what people said about Josh Norman. Ramsey is legit, so is Zeke, both can be true.

Oh brother.

Candidly, I think there is an anti-Cowboys conspiracy in the NFL from certain subversive elements. Watching games and how the penalties are called or not called and the Dez Bryant overturn in the playoffs two years ago solidified this notion for me. The Cowboys make money, whether they win or lose because there is just as much hate as there is love for the team in the fan base of the NFL. The NFL makes money regardless since it's a pot-sharing system.

Look at how much positive attention Wentz is always getting even last year when he was so over-hyped it wasn't even funny.

Just when you think the Cowboys are turning it around with a 13-3 season, this year has been a total distraction with the Zeke issue dragging out for total BS reasons. Zeke was never charged because of the lack of credibility of the witness and and so it should have been dismissed right away. This is absolutely intentional. If you don't think this is having an impact on him and the team, then I have a bridge to sell you.

with all the offseason stuff and how young the defense is and the coaching this team is about where I thought they would be maybe 2016 draft was not the greatest draft of the cowboys and maybe they wont be competing for playoffs for the next ten years that was all fluff and white noise they showing now just what there history has shown

Is it fun to be this negative about a sports team? I don’t get the appeal.

It's bizarre, isn't it?

But they'll all just tell you that they're "realists" and you're just a blind homer (despite the fact that they're being completely UNrealistic with this sky is falling routine).

Not sure how long you've been on this board but you should've seen it just after week 1 of the 2014 season. It's somehow getting worse now than it was then, though.

The whine is strong in this one

You know I'm with you on this, but two close home losses heading into a bye week on top of Jerry being a giant intentional distraction and Zeke's suspension getting reinstated would do that to most fan bases.

So what should a sports message board be? Just roses and cupcakes?

The team pretty much stinks right now. Two home losses in a row. A defense that is one of the worst in the league. A front office that largely seems to think they don't have any problems with coaching on either side of the ball. A division rival, who we were all told was going to stink, has zoomed past us in the standings and appears to have a team built for the long haul and now has a pretty nice stranglehold on the division (2 game lead, already has us on one tiebreaker - conference losses).

What do you actually expect the tone and discussions around here would be about?

Yes, because that's what important at this point........... what people thought, not the actual results on the field.

That's the beauty of sports, once they start playing games, it helps you assess how good/bad your team and other teams are.

The Eagles are clearly a better team at this juncture. Even if people want to argue the offenses are similar (although I might quibble with that at this point), the Eagles defense is so much better than ours.
Tats not what I'm arguing. People in hindsight are talking about how much better the eagles did during the offseason than we did. But it's all reactionary. Just trying to keep people honest.

Oh waaahhhh!!!

This isn't a prediction thread, it's a reality thread. And giving credit where credit is due.

But you go cry and whine because they're good and the Cowboys aren't.

And then you "shut up".
I'm doing the exact opposite of whining. That's probably be the thread OP and all the people agreeing with him that the sky isn't falling.... It's fallen.

I have no issues with the fans saying the boys still have a shot. Fans should absolutely maintain hope. This is the NFL and things are constantly changing. That said, I think this message board invites more comments from the ‘realists’ when there are so many that claim the competition is ‘lucky’, or ‘mediocre’. People that watch the NFL with an objective eye know better. Those sort of comments rub logical people the wrong way because they, well, lack logic.

The division is not lost. Ahead of us we have 2 games with the 2 divisional teams that presently stand ahead of us. These are must win games but we can win them. We are just getting to the heart of the season and I think our team can start stringing wins together. Our team has it's flaws but so do the other teams so I see no reason to give up so early in the season. Go Cowboys!

Eagles play their next three games at home against winnable opponents. It's done and they deserve it. They went out and got Jernigan and Darby to add to an already stacked defense. Got Jeffrey on a prove it deal to help out their young QB. Their oline looks like top 3 in the league. Meanwhile we go 13-3 and get fat and happy. Benson Mayowa and Kyle Wilber are getting significant PT on this team. I'm totally disgusted in the front office. How do you not go for the jugular after getting so close last season?
Usually these type posts are about the Cowboys wasting money on worthless free agents that strap them financially for years to come. As good as you thought the Eagles looked last night. The Panthers could easily have won that game if not for some real inept QB play/play calling.
