Here's the first cover of the new magazine, formally known as the Dallas Cowboys Officially Weekly newspaper. I haven't received mine yet. Is it now in glossy magazine paper? Does anyone know?

Funny, I thought this was another carrie/romo thread.

And I'm not going to say anything about that pic of Tony and Wade.

I don't care what it's called. I just want to know if they will provide improved quality coverage of the Cowboys and not essentially reruns of what has already been printed in various medias. In other words tell us what we don't know instead of what we already know.

I guess more thought should have gone into naming it. There's already a "Star Magazine" and its reputation isn't too good.

That was my immediate thought. This was a really bad idea.

Since this was brought up, there is a discount code to get a years subscription for 24.95 (half price)-includes web access of same material. The discount code is 1Aug07, it can also be used for for a 14.00 web access only subscription. (offer expires Aug. 31, 2007)

I think the name is pretty bad partly because of the tabloid with the Star name and partly because its just overkill. Why not just call it Dallas Cowboys Magazine or keep it the Dallas Cowboys Weekly?

The mailing I got says:"with new slick pages, more photos, full color, exciting new features, more pages, and behind the scenes stories and photos.

Change the name all you want. The information I care about the most will be outdated by the time it arrives in my mailbox thanks to the CowboysZone!

Even without the Zone, the stuff is outdated. Never really understood why that magazine got all the love.

The 70's and 80's and into the 90's were different for me. Living away from the metro area I had zero connection with the 'Boys. That magazine couldn't get in my mailbox soon enough. Once Al Gore invented the internet, that changed everything. :D

Many Cowboys fans outside of that general area and back in the day you only got cowboy news on ESPN sportscenter prior to the net taking off.

Really stunk IMO.

But I still heard from some friends that the magazine/newsletter was not really worth the money so I never subscribed.

I really think that my rendition of the magazine cover would boost subscription sales, but what do I know? :(

:)

Not that I would buy the regular magazine anyways but if I saw it had an inkling of a Romo/Underwood article in it there would be No Way I would buy it.

That stuff has worn me out.

Now to be fair to you, I know you were doing it as a joke and that is cool, just commenting on how this whole thing with Romo and his personal life is just become stupid because of the media's own laziness and sensationalism.

I know where you're coming from. The media should put limits on their own zealous nature. Hopefully, this stuff will just bounce off Romo.
