Ok. Please wake me up when he actually starts serving that purpose. I look forward to it.

Because all we have seen so far is easily replaceable play with absolutely zero explosiveness whatsoever.
Every person is entitled to their opinion. You don't want Zeke on the team. Fine.. I'm sure the Cowboys will take that under advisement.

Zeke did break free for a 4 yard gain last game!
He had a longer one than that brought back on a penalty. Dude is snake bit. He had three plays of 30+ yards last year, 2 runs and a 75 yard catch and run, brought back by penalty. Like I said, he needs to adapt his running style to this offense and his role in it. If he's not the starter then there is no need to go hunting contact to "soften the defense up." He needs to treat every carry like he won't get another one for several quarters.. which is the reality. When I was in that role I tried to house it every time I got the ball. I ran like my hair was on fire and didn't go down or out of bounds until it was the absolutely last resort.

Lots of folks on this board get in their feelings when players get paid.

Zeke being back is an indictment of the FO. Zeke is wasting a roster spot.
Pretty much my claim......can't blame Zeke for coming back one bit. Front Office has failed us, as fans.......with roster......not Zeke.

Well he's already bought and paid for, I'm assuming he was guaranteed his money so he's depth at least.
You have fans on this board that would rather cut him and give Dowdle 20+ carries a game so he can end up injured and worn out by the end of the season. He’s had injury issues so he needs to be spelled at times but good luck convincing some of the fans here.

I believe the FO will hang onto Zeke until the current season is over.

Jerry has a fondness for Zeke that won't quit, but Zeke will make it possible. ;)

Aside from that, it's extremely possible that our need for a lead RB will be attended to in 2025.

I know this story from years ago, yet here we are today.

Take the blue pill they said, take the blue one.

He was 2nd in the league in rushing averaging 5.5 ypc before his knee injury in 2021. I suspect something kept him from being the same but I don't think it was corona.. I think it was playing 12 games on a busted knee that year. Not to say Covid didn't hit him. I totally agree that his stamina was never the same after that but we have known for some time that the virus attacks the respiratory system. Zeke's appears to have never recovered. That said, I point to the start he got off to in 2021 as evidence that his physical capabilities were back from Covid up to that point.
Why not? I'm pretty certain that it was.

Playing CAR and NYG sorta helped that YPC. He went 3 YPC vs TB, 4.44 vs LAC, and then 5.59 vs Phil. Going against crapp teams always boosts your stats.

I'm not suggesting they use him much cause I don't think he's that good anymore. Only saying "if" he's already paid for, save him for depth just in case, unless they find a worthwhile replacement for him.

I wonder if Zeke body would have held out longer if he didn’t party so much

That may have been the case but that doesn't mean he's gonna fumble this year

The hard truth is, if an NFL organization is serious about winning, it must take a coldly honest view of every roster spot to always be open to getting better as a team

This organization seems to not value roster spots anymore than they seem concerned about being participants in free agency. In regards to Zeke individually I have seen nothing he does that luepke doesn’t do as well or better
