Hear me out.

We could obviously get some picks for him and replace him. Lets say a 1st and 2nd round pick for Dez.

If the trade doesn't work out, maybe it will at least send a message to him that walking off the sideline during a game is unacceptable. IMO he is walking when his contract is up anyway. He wants to win.

Possible Replacements: Sammy Watkins, Kelvin Benjamin or Mike Evans

These rooks will be just as good as Dez and and maybe don't have the bad "Team" attitude.

With the extra picks you could shore up DL and LB, maybe even snag a RB.

It won't happen because he will sell jerseys when Romo is gone, but as far as current economics of the NFL go it is the no-brainer of no-brainers. The 16M a top flight receiver commands just isn't worth what they bring to the table.

Not going to happen.

Jerry doesn't trade "his guys".

I think Dez is a really good player, however, I think the Cowboys are headed to a scenario where they are going to pay Dez top 3-4 WR money for a guy who may not be a Top 5 WR.

They are heading into the last year of his contract and they are going to have to do something soon.

Selling Jerseys. Geez. This is what we have become.

We need lots of parts.
Dez is a shiny sports car, and the value he could be sold for, outweighs the value of keeping him.

It really is no different than spending big bucks on Brandon Carr in free agency while ignoring the defensive line, and we all saw how that worked out.

That's the biggest problem with super elites like Megatron, Fitz, etc. They get $14-$16m a year. When you already have a QB making $17-20m you end up with two guys taking up 25% of the cap all by themselves.

The delta in production between a Fitz/Megatron making $15m a year and a Pierre Garcon / Jordy Nelson making less half that is so small, it's really hard to justify mega WR money.

This may be the worst post in the history of Cowboyszone. Dez does not have a "bad team attitude."
He's an emotional young player that made a mistake, a mistake that all-pro Andre Johnson made in Houston,
without the fanfare from the media.
Dez has grown in each of his years here, on and off the field. He is one of the hardest workers on the team,
and has stated he loves it here.
I guess you would have shipped off Irvin for his on the field endevors, cut Aikman because he was mean on the sideline and let Emmitt go because he held out.

I thought this would be about his back and his impending large extension, in which case, I'd actually consider it if we could get sufficient value, but I think it's incredibly unlikely.

Ok Rowdy. Throw your computer today and walk out of the building. Let me know how your boss takes that. He's got emotion, but he's also a cancer. You simply can't act like that. If he did that in New England, he wouldn't have ridden the plane home.

I'm all for trading players, if it makes sense. This is not one of them. We would have to get a hershal (sp?) walker trade-esque deal for dez, which doesn't happen in this era of football.

I'm sure it was dealt with. What about Andre Johnson? Did he catch the hell like Dez?
Anytime Dez has done something wrong, he hasn't repeated the action.
People make mistakes and learn from it or don't. Dez seems to learn from his mistakes and he doesn't
repeat them.
If you want to argue that we need to trade him because he's going to be too expensive and we need to manage the salary cap, I would disagree, but it would make more sense.

I'm actually on the fence about it. And I love him as a player and teammate. But I can see the backs problem being chronic, and there's not much you can do about it if it is.
