Haven't seen any threads on him. Dude is an animal. I really, really hope we keep a true FB on the roster, and I'd love for it to be him. He's a great all-around FB and an absolute truck as a blocker.

He could quickly become Murray's BFF.

We would have to commit to running in order to keep him which I am all for.

Read somewhere Garrett wanted a FB. Could have been here as speculation. Personally I'd rather have a Fback. But Copeland intrigues me.

I've read where many "gurus" feel Copeland would benefit by losing some weight. (270 at 5'11" does seem excessive.)

I'm with you. Give DM29 a fullback behind our revamped OL and he'll give you these results:

I think he has a bit of an uphill battle. He first needs to lose a quite a bit of weight. Then he'll have to play lights out in order to convince the staff that it'worth keeping a roster spot for a true fb.

I wonder if Linehan used a fb in Detroit. It doesn't seem like he did but I'm just going memory of some of their plays.

And he has to learn how catch the ball. And pass pro. And contribute on special teams.

In other words, he is not just going to make the roster because some fans think he is a vicious beast.

We want to go long in too many places for a FB to make the final 53. Maybe we can hide him on the PS.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Murray prefer no fullback? Hasn't he gone on record with that or did I imagine it?

One could hope. I was hoping to see a FB in the clip so we could see if Murray knows how to run behind a fullback and can read the hips and the moves of both the FB and the man he's blocking. I have my doubts. Murray has a stride I don't like behind the line of scrimmage. However, all my doubts aside. I like...no love Murray's effort and I think he will up his game this year.

Murray had his best games with Fiametta.. With the NFL turning into a pass happy
League.. I'm all for going against the curve and becoming a power running team... This does 3 things.. 1. Keeps the defense of the field by running clock.. 2. Keeps # 12 and Garrett from pissing away games and 3. Wears the opposing defense down so at the end of games we're not passing the ball 3 times when we just need a few first downs to seal a game...

I'm gonna go on a limb and guess 'Romo'.

I don't think Copeland makes it out of camp. The fascination with inline fullbacks is like the fascination with a power running game in general. It sounds good, but it just puts you at an offensive disadvantage anymore.

I don't get the excitement with this guy. He's a dinosaur. Today's game just doesn't fit what he can do.

I'm with you. I also have a feeling that, unless Copeland is an asset in the passing game, he'll only be there for running plays. Which would make it obvious to the defense what we're doing. Think about it -- who would we substitute Copeland for on a passing play? Witten, Escobar, Street, Beasley, etc? Can't see that happening.

I think he's always wanted one on the roster, but just hasn't found one that could stick. Fiammetta was the guy originally, but he would get concussed laying down to go to sleep at night.

I want a blocking back who can catch the ball. There are a lot of plays one can run esp in short yardage or GL situations which are dependent of the back being a run/catch threat. And preferably they can catch the ball and turn up field without falling down. We don't need a FB with a lot of wiggle or missem'.
