J.C. Copeland

I'm gonna go on a limb and guess 'Romo'.

I don't think Copeland makes it out of camp. The fascination with inline fullbacks is like the fascination with a power running game in general. It sounds good, but it just puts you at an offensive disadvantage anymore.

That would be nice except Romo is and always has been # 9.

I'm with you. I also have a feeling that, unless Copeland is an asset in the passing game, he'll only be there for running plays.

As opposed to all the other NFL Fullbacks that go in on passing plays? If our coach is worth a damn, he'll know how to take advantage of a defense that's biting on the run every time the FB is out on the field.

If Copeland wants to make the squad, he needs to do a better job with his hands and be able to hold blocks. He too often tries to launch a blow and misses. Clutts isn't enarly as powerful but he executes and I personally am tired of people missing blocks.

Yes. J.C. Copeland is going to change the way the game is played.

Its how you execute within your system, Copeland can be successful in this league. You can take advantage of the style of play he brings you.

I didn't understand the mentality of not carrying a fullback on the roster most of last year. Yet, we had 3 or 4 designated Special Teams "Aces" on the roster: Danny McCray, Cameron Lawrence, Kyle Bosworth, and Edgar Jones?

Third and short, fourth and short, and goal line are all critical downs in a football game. A player just for those downs makes sense. Most fullbacks are decent Special Teams guys anyway.

Hopefully, we've learned from last year.

I agree. There needs to be a spot for a fullback on the roster. A true fullback. Not a short tight end.

Honestly, that's exactly what I'm afraid of. We haven't exactly had the greatest play calling recently.

I know. Who do you think he was referring to?

Who knows. I don't pay a lot of attention to posters that aren't even aware of the number that our starting QB wears. Maybe he's one of those guys that think all QBs wear # 12.

I don't think its a matter of not wanting one, but the talent just isn't there. Its been stated many times, the colleges are going spread, so that's what the NFL has to pick from.

I think he has a bit of an uphill battle. He first needs to lose a quite a bit of weight. Then he'll have to play lights out in order to convince the staff that it'worth keeping a roster spot for a true fb.

Why does he have to lose quite a bit of weight again?

Haven't seen any threads on him. Dude is an animal. I really, really hope we keep a true FB on the roster, and I'd love for it to be him. He's a great all-around FB and an absolute truck as a blocker.

He could quickly become Murray's BFF.

First..

Murray has to stay healthy and play 16 games.

We'll see about that.

He never had Charles type wheels. Stop.

what u might want to go look up his college highlights. And of i forgot he ran faster than charles at the combine despit weighing 13lbs more. Try again. Demarco use to have a second gear were u don't see him get caught from behind and he use to out run the defenders angles. Now he seems to have good speed but doesn't have the long speed anymore.

Personally, I would love for the Cowboys to keep a FB. There are advantages in run-blocking that can be created when you have a bowling ball for the lead blocker.

Yes he was terrible in college
