No offense to you personally, but I can't stand that mentality. It's a loser mentality.

Expect doom and gloom and then you're not disappointed when you're one of 31 teams who don't win the Super Bowl. You have a 97% chance of being right. If on the off chance you're wrong, hell we win the Super Bowl. how can you lose??

Instead of having the actual stones and guile to look for reasons why we can be successful on the 3% chance that you'll be right.

Oh yeah.... that's the media's mentality too.

I know this. I'm not accusing you of being a lesser fan.

I just think you have placed a standard upon Jason Garrett that is impossible for any coach to live up to. It is ridiculous to think our NFC East rivals have easy marks that he should dominate and if he doesn't it proves he isn't anything but hype.

I don't get the desire to be ridiculous when you are the guy who exposed the ridiculous nature of Werder's agenda. Yet here you are doing exactly what he did just without ESPN as your bullhorn.

Maybe you admire him more than you know.

A devastating shot, Hostile!

Hey great idea. Lets totally ignore the 1yr where the offense clicked, the QB set all sorts of team records, we sent tons of guys to the probowl and oh, we were pretty healthy.

Instead lets only look at the one yr where the team had tons of injuries and a headcase WR who *****ed and moaned on a daily basis about how many balls were thrown his way, including after a game in which he was thrown at some 20+ times.

Asking for more money is not the issue...telling a team you don't think they can win like Baltimore is. Another example of his inability to judge talent (i.e. Johnson can do they job as backup in this offense).

The first year is never a good indicator for me. Hence why I am not solidly on the Baltimore/Atlanta QB bandwagons yet. Wait till year 2 when the league knows you to really produce. (Or in McDaniels case without the "Hoodie" next to you...see Charlie Wise and Romeo Crennel). You saw what year 2 was for Garrett...but if you are happy with him so be it.

Actually you're right, like I said in another post, 2007 Garrett said "check" and in 2008 the DC's said "checkmate". Now it's Garretts move. Hopefully he will rise to the challenge.

There is no move after checkmate.

You're right, I guess, I don't play chess but I think most people that read it knew what point I was trying to make. Ya see, that's what wrong with some people, they get caught up in the minutia. It's kinda like reading a persons post and they have a spelling error, if you know what word they were trying to spell then it's no use in correcting them. The point of these message board is to communicate with fellow fns (see you knew I was trying to spell fans). No matter what education level someone reaches it doesn't make them more a fan than the next.

See, that what's wrong with people that think that Garrett's going to be a great coach in this league partly because of his Princeton education. Yeah he might be bright but in crucial situations last year some savvy vet DC outcoached him. Spagnualo did it in the 2007 playoffs, Jim Johnson did it in December 2008, and the Pitts DC did it also in 2008.

Garretts's offense worked good in 2007 for a few reasons, no one had any tape on it and he took the league by storm. TO had monster numbers partly because teams were playing him like he was just another wr, few double teams, no aggessive man with over the top coverage. That happened until late in the season, teams started to take TO out of the game and were willing to let the other Cowboys beat them.

This continue into 2008 season, some people look at TO stats and say that he feel off but I think it was more about the way teams defended him. DC dared the Cowboys to throw to Crayton who was getting 1 on 1 coverage and he couldn't beat his man. Why do you think Garrett was so pumped about getting RW11 because he knew Crayton as a No.2 wr didn't threaten the defense and they weren't respecting him. He thought just by getting RW11 teams would take the man-over coverage away from TO and bring the explosiveness back to the offense.

DC's basically said "until you can prove to me RW11 is a legitimate threat, we'll still cover TO the same". That's why at the end of last year TO said RW11 should get more passes thrown in his direction. Garrett needed to make RW11 a viable option against 1 on 1 coverage but he never did. In the end RW11 was no more a threat to the defense than Crayton.

In 2009 it's Garrett's move err turn or whatever the appropriate term is.

You have high expectations.

Your kinda like Garrett come to think of it. He'll probably correct Dick LeBeau's english if they were having a conversation then look down on him because he's not Ivy League educated. It will probably make him feel good until LeBeau shows him his SB rings and remind him of what he did to him in 2008. After that the RHG will probably tuck his tail and run.
