If he falls on his face in Cleveland or wherever he goes,...

if he hits the open market in a few years Jerry will jump on it.

If he drops to 16 (won't happen), the Cowboys will trade the pick. I don't think there's any chance of Jerry using his top resource of the offseason on a player who creates a QB controversy.

If a team is willing to trade up. If not he will be a cowboy. Anyone who doesn't think so hasn't been paying attention the past 25 years. For a guy who slams jj at every chance he gets I would think you should know this. Jj believes he's in control at all times and his team can handle any controversy. This would put a huge light on the Cowboys and jj loves that stuff. The fact that he's had him in his suite on more than 1 occassion shows you how jj likes the attention and could care less about a qb controversy.

What the heck, trade up for Johnny Football at all cost. I will be entertained and that is the goal of the team. It will make as much sense as the trade up for Mo a couple of years ago. C'mon Jerry entertain me.

I read the first sentence and stopped and I thought to myself..
"what the heck, @jnday? who hijacked your account and is spewing this nonsense?"... Then I read it again and picked up on the obvious sarcasm. Good laugh.

i will take this bet but i dont think he makes it to 16 anyway so all this handwringing is moot.

I agree; can't see him making it to 16.

But yes, I would bet we would not take him at 16 even if he was there.....of course assuming we can get a trade down (most likely) or there is a player there in he same tier at a position of greater need.

If JM is available when the Cowboys pick and they don't take him, they are creating a QB controversy anyway, without the ability to benefit from it.

I actually think there is a 50/50 shot of Manziel falling to us. There are a lot of whispers around the league that he is not 1st round talent and Carr will be picked ahead of him along with Bortles and Bridgewater.

We are one sack away from an uninspired Orton or Weeden. It's not a bad pick if he is there. The coaches could probably all take a deep breath and know that they have some nice excuses lined up for another mediocre season. Jerry would probably extend them all after the draft. It would be obvious that a 2 year plan was in place. That is no way to fix this defense in one year with a first pick like that. It would be obvious we were thinking of future years more than this season. I'd be ok with it, mainly because I think we have bigger issues on defense than can be solved with what is in the draft (unless we are very fortunate indeed.)

If he begins to fall, get used to the sight.

This too considering their friendship haha.

Is that Jessica Simpson sitting next to him in the second (lower) shot?!

There is no greater position of need for a championship level NFL franchise than having a young, promising, talented QB.

Given Romo's age, health concerns, & physical limitations due the attrition of playing QB, if Bridgewater, Manziel, or Bortles are available at 16, Jerry would be wise to select one of those players.

Never underestimate Jerry Jones. Especially when he takes a personal interest in a player.

Manziel is probably atop many draft boards. If he falls to 16, he'll be a Dallas Cowboy. You can book that.
