Well...there goes one of the main guys I was hoping for. He just seemed to make sense & cents.

- Still roughly 2 months shy of turning 26 y/o
- Came cheaper than some others as speculated
- Solid vs. the run
- Productive as a 4-3 LDE...which is among the Boys primary needs

I still think JJ's one big splash will be Hardy, and we'll also have to spend a bit to retain RoMac.

I really hope this is the case because the pass rusher market is almost dried up at this point. Depressing offseason this far.

Jabal Sheard just got 5.5M per season and everyone is ruing. I recall the same people huffing and puffing when Murray turned down 4M - saying that it was too much.

the devil is in the details. Sheard is not worth 5.5 over a long term deal, but with it being a 2 year deal, you can likely get out of it easily if he proves he is not.

I think Doc50 just doesn't know what he's talking about. Why would he not be a fit? 265+, 33.5" arms, strong build, good motor. Why would Marinelli not want that guy?

I don't know why either, but the FO and coaches haven't been targeting him. As jterrell suggested, NE may have had the inside track on him, and Marinelli must have his eye on someone else.

The Boys' talent evaluation has been fairly solid recently. We'll see what they come up with.

BTW - remember the hate when we picked Hitchens?

There are still a lot of guys out there.
This was a team friendly deal that Dallas likely would have done.
Sheard took the offer from the SB champs for obvious reason.

Instead of having a premature man cry why not wait and see where this all shakes out.

We had a full off-season last year of crying. All it proved was fans are clueless and overly emotional.

Wow, an actual person who decides to use logic. What a beautiful sight to see and i couldn't have said it better myself. Perfectly worded my friend.

I'm a little disappointed in this one.

It's maybe the 1st one so far that the price and potential lined up for us.

see I'm not as crazy as you think.

i stayed quiet the first day....but now we are starting to see some reasonable deals and these jones clowns remain silent.

I really liked Sheard based on his first two years in a 4-3. I thought this was certainly an investment, but a worthy one.

As jterrell suggested, NE may have had the inside track on him, and Marinelli must have his eye on someone else.

And if that is the case, his eye is on inferior players.

All in all, it is pretty clear that Dallas has made their intentions clear. They have zero interest in being involved in free agency until it is sifting through the remnants several weeks from now. While that approach might have worked last season, there is nothing that suggests that is a winning strategy.

This was a move that could pay off like Michael Bennett did for the Seahawks.

Is it me or does it seem like the AFC East is loading up so far? Man, we have to play this division this year too, I thought New England would be the only tough game but that division will have 4 tough defenses now.

Yeah, but I also remember it when we picked David Arkin and Matt Johnson too.

Yes they will.

I like the Jets picking up Fitzpatrick. He's not good, but he's better than what they've had there the last few seasons.

Buffalo still has a crummy oline, having missed out on all the high-end OL FA's and their QB situation-- not good.

This was a great deal for the Patriots. They got him much cheaper than I ever expected. They stole him. Disappointing that we never tried on this one.

I don't think "stole" is the right word, but it is one of the better value signings so far-- maybe the best one.

But keep in mind virtually all deals up to this point have been ridiculous to one extent or another.
