Jake Ferguson Breakout Season incoming

A better QB and we have better plays from TE's as well as RB's and WR's.
a better running back and defenses actually have to account or him and not flood the passing lanes.

your hero was sooo bad defenses basically ignored the run when Zeke was in there.

how did you feel when your hero got cut? Did you cry?

Odds are he is a scrub.

Maybe it works out though.
scrub????? lol...... I simply scratch my head at some of you. The guy was drafted to be the next TE. He met any possible expectations we had as a rookie playing BEHIND the clear starter. Now in his 2nd year they are giving him the job, and the next guy also had a great rookie campaign. When are teams supposed to give the jobs to anyone? IN the last year of their deal?

Thats because in a league of 32 teams, there are only 4-5 TEs that make huge impacts week to week. There arent many.

Do you think that maybe, just maybe, if Ferguson was the full time guy that he could produce 65-70 catches and 8-10 Tds? Did you see him hurdle over a defender then barrel over the next guy downfield trying to tackle him?

Obviously the coaches see stuff EVERYDAY in addition to the plan from DAY ONE being Ferguson take over THIS SEASON.
If's and what's were cracker's and nuts...

 wow, just bad, again.

I expect a big improvement in Ferguson
TE’s tend to develop year over year as they learn more about reading the defense, route running and blocking techniques, not to mention growing some physically

Lol, uh, you know they actually test this stuff before the draft right? His official combine was 4.81 and 4.77 pro day. Both were achieved after a couple of months training to run faster and both are fairly slow to slow for the position!
Jerry Rice ran a 4.71

Stop this nonsense about 40 times as an indicator of a players ability. Especially a TE.

Uh yeah, the myth of Rice running an actual 4.7 was was debunked years ago and that’s pretty clear to anyone who watched him play. He was from a tiny school, didn’t train and didn’t know how to run it. His actual speed was closer to 4.45 and coaches knew it going into the draft!

He is more than a 5 and out and 10 and curl route runner..

I do not understand some of you. So you do know that you draft guys to take over and be the man, right? You normally dont expect it to happen as rookies, unless you spent a top 2rd pick on a player. Do you not understand why they franchised Schultz LAST year and let him walk this year? So you are shocked that Schultz, as a rookie in the first half of the season, when given a chance to get snaps due to Schultz injury, didnt produce 8 catches for 115 a game during that span? You dont let Schutz walk only to go sign another Vet that you HOPE can play better than Ferguson. Face it, its Ferguson and Pendershot's chance to shine this year. They are either going to do it or stink it up, but we arent adding a TE to play over EITHER one of those 2 guys.
You grab a cheap vet who has shown he can play in the league or draft another tight end (need to carry at least three) because you these unproven players can "stink it up." It isn't like Dallas is going to go out and grab a bona fide starter, just someone who won't "stink it up" in case Ferguson and Hendershot do. You don't let one position possibly derail you with poor planning. OK, Dallas does let that happen but shouldn't.

I believe Ferguson and Hendershot will be our top two tight ends this year, but I can't say that with absolute certainty, so the team should have a fallback option. I guess they could always trade for one at the end of camp if these two fail, but then you overpay.

They are not going to stink it up, they already showed they could play last year, as rookies.

No vet TE that is dirt cheap is gonna play any better, so you are wasting your time looking at old washed up vets. The team has already made up its mind and determined that what they already ave is going to be plenty at the position. You just do not agree.

We'll see if they've determined that. I still believe they will pick up a cheap vet or draft a tight end within the first four rounds. The plan will be for Ferguson to start but to have options in case he struggles. Players sometimes do that when they are elevated to starter, you know.

I have no clue what the thoughts are of upper brass.

BUT, I do not think a team is going to draft TE in back to back seasons. JMO..... especially when the guy you drafted played very well.

If they are going to draft one, give me LaPorta in day 2, round 2.

Rather go DL at 26 depending on who falls
