He is not ready at all but the overall stats and athleticism will make some team be suckered into drafting him early. The popular comparison will be to Lamar Jackson and now Jayden Daniels but Milroe is so raw as a passer even in comparison to them. Lamar threw the ball way more at Louisville in Petrino's offense.

For the sake of his long-term career, I really hope he comes back another year. Otherwise, he will have the same fate as Trey Lance
Greed will probably win out but I agree he needs another year after this of experience.

Love how Milroe goes from Heisman front-runner to longshot after a loss to Vandy, even though he played a pretty average game last week. The Heisman really is a playoff-team award rather than an individual merit award.

With that being said, the current two Heisman favorites, Hunter and Jeanty, are legitimately the two best football players in America regardless of team or position. My heart is happy.

WRT to Milroe, it would be best for his game if he stayed another year at Bama, but it wouldn't give him much financially. He'd be a top ten pick if he declared for the draft tomorrow, so his draft stock's about as high as it will get, and declaring this year would give him an extra season of NFL riches. Bama NIL money pays pretty well, but NFL QB contracts are way bigger.

but he would be more NFL ready with another year of experience under his belt and that could mean more money on his second contract

They put up 35 but lost to Vanderbilt . So much for playoff berth
12 team playoff this year.

Bama would likely have to experience a rash of catastrophic injuries at key positions to not be in the playoff this year

Hard pass but he does contribute to the dumbing down of the nfl.

Milroe just hasn't shown much with his arm.

I guess there are a lot of QB desperate teams who might take him early - kind of like Richardson last year - but man there is just not a lot to build on with him.

Does 'Bama have a QB in the waiting next year? Or is Milroe still their best option in 25?

got a five star commit so we shall see
Milroe had a very good season last year and seemed on track to be better this year but has stumbled
now how much is him and how much is the change in coaching is the question

He's definitely better than Jaylon Hurts. He reminds me Lamar Jackson coming into the league. He can run with anyone but not a classic pocket passer. If somebody is willing to build an offense around his skillset, he could be great. I'll be shocked if he's not a first round pick.

Thing is how many running QBs have won a SB? and that is what he is.

Trying to compare Milroe to Lamar is crazy. The gap between what Lamar did in college and what Milroe is doing is light years.
And Hurts was a better prospect too

Disagree. Lamar was very inaccurate throwing the ball in college . He was viewed as a poor man's Mike Vick. He was pick #32 and guys like Josh Rosen were drafted drafted ahead of him. Millroe can run and pocket pass. This is only his second full season starting and he's getting better and better.

Hurts couldn't hit the ocean standing on the beach when he was at bama. He improved at OU but still not first round material. Milroe has a higher draft stock than both right now. He is much faster than Hurts and much bigger than Jackson.

don't know how you can say Milroe is getting better and better.
his YPA is down; his INT % is way up and his rating is down

I hope you’re a delusional Bama fan, that would at least be excusable. Because trying to compare a guy who’s currently not even the best QB in the conference he’s playing in to arguably one of the greatest CFB athletes ever is 1 heck of a wild take.
You can even remove throwing the football from the equation…Milroe isn’t on the same planet as Lamar as a running threat

... said nobody in 2018. You clearly do not have a working knowledge or memory of the NFL draft. Nobody thought Lamar was going to be as good as he is and thats a fact. My point stands. Coming into the NFL from college, Milroe is the better prospect and his draft position will reflect it. He doesn't have to faster than Lamar. He's fast enough and a better passer coming into the league. Saban said he was the fastest guy on the Crimson Tide and thats saying something.
