I'm assuming a lot of folks on this board are from Texas which is why I find it curious that no one has noted the obvious parallels between these two players. Nearly identical builds and forty times, both hyped as athletic corners that could translate well at safety.

How did that work out? Yes, Jammer played for 11 seasons but no one would accuse him of being anything other than a middle of the road defensive back. I'll be so excited if we pass on the next Emmitt Smith for the next Quentin Jammer! And then the Ramsey crowd can explain to us how taking a RB at #4 was too high and that losing Murray had no tangible impact on this team whatsoever! Exciting times ahead.

Maybe ramsey is the next ed reed and zeke is the next blair thomas......we wont know till they are drafted and play in the league for a few years

Personally I see Zeke as the next Ki-jana Carter and Ramsey is the next Mark Barron aka a LBer.

Next Emmitt Smith?

Yeah, this place has gone mad lol

Emmitt was a special player but his most special attribute would be his durability. No way we can expect Zeke to match his durability but Zeke can match Emmitt's production during his peak years for at least his rookie contract if he is the pick, he could very well exceed it. I have no doubt about that.

Don't you dare question Ramsey as defensive God around here or the legions of attack dogs will come out to insult you for having a different opinion than they do.....

Trent Richardson was bigger and faster then Emmitt Smith so he must be better then Emmitt.

He may have been. He just got fat and lazy once he signed his contract. I don't think he was a bad prospect, you can't always sense things like that.

What on his tape makes Ramsey the next Jammer, and what makes Elliott the next Emmit Smith. Sounds to me like you just want to prop up your guy.

Fixed it for you.

There seems to be dogs on both side.

I believe both players have the potential to be very good to great.

For me it comes down to:

One is value @ 4 and one is not.
One is @ a position of need one is not.

If you want Zeke then trade down get him @ a value price and pick up picks to address the D.

If Boys don't take him @ 4 he will fall to the 8-10 range.

But I would still take BPA @ a position of need @ 4.

So we automatically write off Ramsey as a Quentij Jammer but we hype up Zeke as a Emmitt Smith who's one of the best running backs in the game. Two extremes.

We will all marvel at his athleticism as he continually allow receivers to get separation in space! We will not care that in order to be Ed Reed, you need to have Ed Reed instincts, because we have got an ATHLETE in the secondary! Look at him run after that WR!

How clever you are.

This is a fans message board.
These kind of post should be welcomed and the poster should not be attacked with rude sarcasm for commenting on their perception or analysis.

These kind of replies just shut down any interesting dialog.
If you don't agree it's fine to just say you don't. But why this type of reply?

..maybe because the poster made a definitive projection on both players' careers.

A quality, hard working RB behind this line will not bust unless he is injured. It is just not even a possibility. Zeke will win rushing titles behind this line if he stays healthy.

A quality, hard working CB can bust behind this front 7. That is not debatable. Sure, we could use a quality DB but there is a risk factor there that is more evident by a player on our roster right now (Mo). Mo was considered a top defensive player in a first round full of great prospects; Ramsey is considered a top defensive player in a first round that is considered to be lackluster.

I'm betting Eric Berry.

Edit: As a CB, you may be right.
