I am not buying the argument that they have done poorly with their 1st rounders as justification for this trade. You do not give up the ability for drafting top talent for a safety. Just because the Lions, Cards, Vikings, Falcons, Jags, Titans, Bills, Bengals, Browns, Texans, Chargers and Panthers haven't won a Superbowl, it doesn't give them a reason to stop trying.
If Wilson goes down those become top 10 picks. Maybe even top 5. Because you can easily make the argument that nobody is more vital to a team's success than Wilson is to Seattle.
Or using the Steelers as an example of a team who generally draft late like the Seahawks do, Seattle just traded for Jamal Adams and gave up the potential for TJ Watt, Emmanuel Sanders, one more capable starter and Minkah Fitzpatrick who is just as good as Adams. And then have to re-set the market at the position. And hope that Adams lives up to his potential and stays healthy himself. All while dealing with whatever fallout there is from Covid-19 going forward.
It was a ludicrous decision from Seattle. And all the spin in the world will not change it.
