It's way early to project, but in my background thoughts is whether either would be relied upon as a secure backup to Tony Romo. If Weeden is still the best alternative, then practice squad becomes a valid option as an alternative. I think that Vaughn has progressed quite a bit, but his downfall at present is experience. I don't know how well he would be able to carry the load consistently through an entire game or even significant part of the season. I don't think that Jameill Showers is a realistic addition for a direct role. It's very nice to see a quarterback with mobility, but this offense is premised upon an offense that protects it's pocket.

From what I saw, Vaughn's throws were sharp and fast. He did throw one a little late, and it looked like he knew the routes and reads. And that is the most important thing to do. He may have missed some throws also, but he looked better than I have seen him before.

But, this is what makes me laugh right now...and this is not a dig on Weeden because it was not his fault, but if Romo was in that game and the snap when over his head he would have gone and picked it up and ran it back for a first down! lol

I see Weeden in the hat of a bus driver...without sun glasses.

He has shown more in practice and in this game than any other churned developmental quarterback we've had since Romo was on the team.

We need to keep this guy around. Vaughan looks okay, but Showers is dynamic and has a better arm.

Keep him. See if he develops, because if he does he has the potential to be really good, IMO.

We've got 4 legit TEs right now. At least it's looking that way to me. Not sure what the plan might be, and I still find it puzzling that they traded an extra pick to draft Swaim. They seem to like that he can play the Y, and I suspect they aren't going to want to expose him.

That means cutting or trading Hanna or Escobar, and both those guys can play. Hanna's the more obvious choice, as he's a better all around player and he's closer to FA. He'd actually be reasonable bait at cut-downs if there's a team with a player we like in need of a TE. If not that, though, everybody knows we're not carrying four TEs into the season, so we don't have any leverage.

And, yeah, I can watch Escobar catch passes all day. He just plucks the ball out of the air with those soft paws. It's kind of fun to see. I'm sort of surprised he's not a guy that fans actually love and clamor for, now that Witten's getting up there in years, honestly.
Hanna does seem like an obvious choice to be traded or get cut he is in the receiving mode of TEs with very good speed as he really doesn't fit the prototype TE this offense requires.

There are a few teams that needs TE help and one of them is our rival Commanders, who just lost Niles Paul for the season they may take the bait to trade or wait until one to be released and I don't care about the Skins but it wouldn't surprise me if whoever Dallas cut ends in Washington it's the Synder way lol.

I don't understand why you have to criticize everyone who doesn't agree with you. Its a forum and everyone has their own opinions. If you don't agree with it you can let them know but you don't have to give some sixth grade playground response. I guess your opinion is the only one that matters and we are dumb. I'm not going to go back and forth with you with the quick little quips like yesterday. Now, fire away kid........

Go back and read the juvenile crap this nobody kept throwing at me. I was just responding to him like that because he was stalking me. That's not my usual way.

To be honest. I didnt like both of them.

Showers seemed to move much better then Vaughn and that is something that catches the audience's eyes. But as a passer he has alot to learn. To me he was nearly a no show.

Showers threw 2 (or 3) passes to the sideline which had to be INTs (with better CB play). He threw the balls at covered WRs, not at the needed point and missed alot of zip to fit them into the right spot.

If i had to keep one of them in the cost of cutting for example a CB (White or Patmon) i'd stick with the later. To be more clear: Those two dont showed me enough to consider them better then other positions that are on the bubble (Swaim or Hanna is another example).

While I don't think he's the next Russell Wilson, I do not agree those passes to the sideline were on him. I think it was Farmer on both occasions who ran pathetic routes, had he been crisper they probably both would have been completions. I think Showers is at very least worthy of a practice squad, while Vaughan isn't far off being the equal to Weeden. If he continues to develop I might consider cutting Weeden because let's face it the team isn't winning squat if Romo goes down anyhow.

The Titans have a nice backup in Mettenberger. I know it's only his second season, but he might be an upgrade over so e of the starters out there. If not now, very soon.
