Combine official stats:
No thanks....special teams, maybe, but we need to have two interchangeable safeties who can both cover a TE, in my opinion.

Not claiming to be that guy, knower of all football,, haha,,,
Just basically kicking over stones bro.
If he can even find a role on ST, then I'm a happy fan.No problem buddy
The point is that this is where the idiocy of our FO has landed us. And there are still fans on this board who will continue to defend them even though the poor decision making is obvious
The Cowboys have obviously seen something in Showers that they like. I'd like to see him succeed on D, even if it's just solid depth. We'll see what happens after the draft.....
they have also seen a lot in other players that they liked. but we ll let that go much like this idea.
One of the greatest safeties to wear the star was Charlie Waters who was a QB at Clemson. He was was converted to CB and failed miserably. They moved him to safety and he flourished. The key to his success besides his athletic ability: he was very smart.
How smart is Showers?
The high and low on the forty are predraft estimates, not actual times.Quick Look

Currently listed as a SS on Cowboys official site.
From Draft scout his 40 times range
Low: 4.56 - high: 4.77
average time: 4.66
vertical: 38
Broad: 10.01
20yd: 4.50
3 cone: 7.48
Conversion projects are never easy in the NFL, but considering the wide open job market for a starting safety currently, I would say Showers is worth paying attention to.
Just bring his name up is all, I had dismissed him as well, but there could be a chance of showers in the forecast..lol
He was a decent CB until Harold Jackson lit him up for four TDs of more than 50 yards. He was a good CB until injuries robbed him of his speed. That's why he was moved to safety for the most part.
I don't see it....besides we need a strong safety
This is what our management does.
Waste precious time on projects that even Ray Charles can see will never amount to anything.
Whenever the team makes a decision that looks like a substance abusing alcoholic made it, you know it was none other than Jerry Jones.
