James Washington return?

Drafted young WRs like Noah Brown, Simi Fehoko and Jalen Tolbert. That's not including 3-4 undrafted WRs who the Cowboys kept on their practice squad. All could have used more reps than the ones given to James Washington who has yet to even touch the field this season.

Any further questions?
Washington broke his foot August 1st. All of those guys got a ton of reps in practice and in the preseason games if they had any prospect at all of making the team. What are you even talking about? You guys just make crap up to try and fit your agenda so you don’t have to admit you are wrong. In addition to the guys discussed that made the rosterwe also had other guys that didn’t even make the roster or no longer are on the roster getting reps all summer long: Drummond, Vasher, Brandon Smith and Dennis Houston. If those guys all got reps you can be sure Tolbert and Simi, both of whom we got constant reports about during camp, got all the reps they could handle and Brown has been on the team for how long now and was making the roster all along so you know he got plenty of reps also. Vasher we got constant updates about and Houston as well and he even made the initial roster. Plus we were even looking to sign additional WRs over the summer. Getting reps wasn’t an issue.

HUGE?????? yea, he has ruined the salary cap for the next decade.

Some of you are a little overly DRAMATIC.
Exactly. Gallup was hurt all Summer and Lamb wasn’t out there getting every rep. The idea Washington, who was hurt 8/1, took snaps away from guys and impeded their progress is ridiculous. Guys are constantly running in and out during TC and the whole off-season.

Washington was never signed to be a 70 catch 1,000 yard receiver anyway. More like a 30 catch 300 yard guy.

Yes it was, wasn't he suppose to be the #3 guy and help replace COOP? So he contributes nothing as one of the only FA signings this offseason- WOW
No, he was insurance against Gallup not healing correctly and Brown not working out. Nothing more!

Washington got reps with the 1st string (unlike the other players), and for what? To get injured and never see the field again? The guy has an injury history. Plus, if he was so good, why did the pass-happy Steelers get rid of him at 25 years of age? Plus, Washington has been healed from his foot injury for a month now. We clearly need help with our receiving corps, so why hasn't Washington been placed on the 53 man roster? All this does is look like signing Washington was a mistake.

Washington has healed from his injury for at least a month now. Why hasn't he been added to the 53 man roster, especially when we need some help with our receiving corps? Hmm? Looks more and more like a waste.

Agree with all of what you say here. The one caveat is in retrospect, after the injury and after Gallup only missed a few weeks the picture is slightly different than when he was signed in April (or whenever). He was a cheap vet minimum signing “just in case”. He was never expected to be a key player but perhaps a guy to chip in while Gallup was out if none of the other guys stepped up (and Tolbert sure didn’t). Luckily Brown stepped up and Gallup came back

Understood and agreed. It still looks bad that Washington has been healed and practicing with Dak since October 22, 2022, yet he has yet to be added to the active roster, especially since we clearly could use some receiving help. It's been over a month. Does not look good.

He doesn’t play STs and isn’t going to pass Brown on the depth chart so I don’t expect him to be activated at all at this point. Maybe If we have an injury

IF OBJ does not come here, then Washington will all of a sudden be healthy and activated.
Then we will be told how much better off we can be.
Which may be true.

Don't forget, Fehoko should be ready to return also. I think.:popcorn:

well seeing how we have the number 1 scoring offense since Dak returned.... our WRs must not be total trash like some in here try to make it.

Washington took up all those training camp reps. Could have used them on someone else who doesn't have a history of getting injured or used them on our young receivers. When today's pass-happy Steelers let you go, but you're only 25 years old, that's a huge red flag. Cowboys are learning this the hard way. A waste in so many ways.
He got injured early in camp.

I believe it was a toe injury. Surgery was on August 2nd and projected to be a 6-10 week injury. We are now in week #18 on Tuesday

Toe injuries are quite different. Especially the big toe. Let’s just sign OBJ…
