You betcha. Tough minded football coach. Remember a few years ago and they were out of the playoffs with all the injuries and we were on our way to the playoffs and they pushed us around? The nice thing with his team was everyone was physical. That’s what we’ve lacked for 20 years….
Thanks for the reply , I know Vrabel is a good coach .Just can't understand why Jerry didn't go after him before as head coach. But would Jerry give a coach full control .that is the biggest problem with Dallas and everybody knows it.Until full control is allowed to the head coach ,not much success will be achieved here. The team needs to answer to the head coach ,in all football functions not the man that talks out of both sides of his mouth to the microphones.

If Jerry thought McCarthy would sign for less than a 5 year deal. Then that tells us all we need to know about him.

Still not true. Other than Parcells, when has Jerry actually tried hiring a top tier HC and giving him any type of power since Jimmy? Answer: none.
And that is the very reason that this team can not win consistently. And after 30 years with out a super bowl Jerry still cannot see that he himself is the culture problem in Dallas.

- This is McCarthy telling Jerry to stick it .
JJ was gonna low ball him and sign him @ the deadline.
- McCarthy was frustrated by the end of the season.
- McCarthy was really frustrated by the block on meeting the Bears.
- Bears interest is legit.
- Saints love McCarthy
- Slater thinks Cowboys are in shock at this .
- Multiple players wanted MM back
- MM told staff contract length an issue - puts everyone out of job.
- Lane Kiffin name popping
- Despite the confusion the Dallas job is coveted
- Mike Vrabel asked Jane Slater to introduce him JJ.
- Cowboys are perceived as league leaders in cheapness.
- JJ - Is floating incentive based coaching contract.
- A lot of interviewable guys are blocked off in the playoffs.
- Dak Loves Kellen Moore
- Long process
- Wonders about Pete Carroll
Jerry plays the Bears next season so it will be fun to see if Jerry can outcoach McCarthy.

Mike McCarthy proves you wrong. Jerry allowed McCarthy to do things his way, bring in his coaches and make changes according to what McCarthy and his coaches wanted. Three 12-5 seasons back-to-back-to-back proves you absolutely wrong.

when did jerry become a cheap skate

i dont get that or was he always like that and i do not remember

cause just a couple year ago he was talking all big about how he would sign a huge huge check if it mean cowboys could win a super bowl
Highest earning franchise in sports and he’s cheap as hell. Jerry makes me want to get a new team….can’t and won’t happen as I’m way too invested over decades, but man I hate him and his narcissism and how he screws his staff/roster/team over and in doing so, is fans. Can’t stand him.

He was given Kellen Moore. Mike Nolan fired after one season, and McCarthy did not want to do that. Not even consulting before acquiring a potential new QB. Jerry does this with just about every head coach.

Parcells was given the choice to keep Zimmer, and decided he could work with him. Tuna could have just fired him and started new at all coaching positions. McCarthy never held that type of power.

thats not how i know it. can you provide a link for what you say?

Players salary is paid from the tv, merch etc revenue. this revenue is to 100% shared between all teams. 42% goes for players salaries (which in fact determines the height of the salary cap) the rest is for the owners. this is part of the salary cap contract between the league and the NFLPA.

Coaches salary is paid from every teams revenue aka owners money. the teams revenue is NOT the leagues revenue. it is not part of the salary cap contract. Which is one reason why coaches salaries are not salary capped.
@Risen Star

Can you please post a link to your statement?

I mean you call me a mess publicly. It would be nice you at least verify what you wrote.

Exactly!
He made a below average QB the highest paid player in NFL history!
The problem is not that Jerry is cheap it’s that he has no idea what he is doing when it comes to building a championship football team!
