I was watching this video with Jane, Voch, and Broaddus and around 17:30 Jane makes some very interesting comments about how cheap Jerry is when it comes to paying coaches, how much he undermines and doesn't really value his head coach. Apparently the word is out around the league amongst coaches as to how cheap Jerry really is. Man, I went from loving Jerry for many years to hating his guts the past half decade. I hate him for how much he's made me hate him. It's also clear he's really a terrible negotiator and gets fleeced in every deal, as they also touch on in this discussion.

Well this isn’t fair lol.

I haven’t mentioned this in years, many years…but I just brought it up in another thread minutes ago. Crazy. Oh well…..

I recall Jimmy on FOX many years ago saying this. Jerry wants to be the walkaround coach….pick the coordinators, but he can’t get away with being on the sidelines and also wants a scapegoat in place.

He just isn’t talented enough to pull it off successfully and neither is the kid, but go ahead and try to convey that one to a billionaire narcissist egomaniac.

If JJ is so cheap then why are coaches working for this organization or could it be nobody else would hire the bums we have coaching DOWN our players.

Again, the biggest reason McCarthy is still here is because Jerry is loathe to pay a coach to sit on his couch while Jerry also pays a new HC. He literally whined about "dead money" for coaches.
He went beyond whining. He called it a “major problem in the NFL.”

Where? For who? The owners make money by the boatloads and most of it is guaranteed.

How could anything be a “major problem” when no one else is on record even mentioning it?

Thought her best point was that because of the obsession with draft and development we dont have a mix of vocal veteran leaders who have a wide experience of how other less dysfunctional (my interpretation) teams are run.

I think his ego has a lot to do with our lack of activity in free agency. The market moves fast and he’s uncomfortable with that and he feels like he’ll lose by moving so quickly. If he can’t move at his pace, then he’s out.
Makes sense, Jerry still has a flip phone and dial up internet at home, so yeah I can see this.

It’s like the LAA Angels. Dumb owner just pays for star players so he can market them. Coaching staff, scouting, team building is not valued.

In other cities other teams owners buy NFL teams with the thought of SB championships . That’s the measuring stick of success .

Jerry was spoiled in a way with Jimmy Johnson solid asst coaches Bob Ackles managing the numbers the contracts they dumped Walker for Draft picks etc ….

Over 30 yrs later I’m not so sure SB is the Jones measuring stick of success . The team the stadium are an “ investment “ and holding concerts soccer games all and anything that can pay the rent ….it’s bottom line driven and football is just an item on the menu .

Hunt in KC Rooney Pitt Lurie Philadelphia Kraft NE these franchises are driven by product on the field the owners are not the Stars the players are the product and real live GM’s run the product .

I thought the more interesting part of the interview was when she said the team lacked vocal leaders. Said Gilmore was that, but of course he's gone. Kendricks tried to do that, but there was "pushback". I wish she'd have explained that further.

But she also said with the draft and develop philosophy here, players haven't been with other teams and don't understand that things are different here.

I have a question for anybody. I've always heard that Jerry jones has the pick of the draft every year. Is this true?
