This is the stuff that Jerry apologists used to pretend didn't happen.

NFL coaches have been talking about it for years.

Monte Kiffin was hired after putting the worst defense in USC history on the field. Guys get anointed in Dallas, talked about how great they are, and then slip into NFL obscurity.

He basically cut McCarthy's staff in 1/2 a few years ago because he didn't want to pay that many coaches.

Then he will turn around and say there isn't a check he wouldn't write to win a Super Bowl. It is insane given how much money this franchise is worth.
Must be a realizing feeling that people are not going to miss you when you’re gone

If this wasn’t already clear or obvious after Jimmy Johnson situation, I don’t know what to tell you…he literally said anybody could’ve takened that head coach position and won with those squads.

Jerry doesn’t respect this sport
And to top it off he had Jason Garrett as his HC for almost a decade.

I was watching this video with Jane, Voch, and Broaddus and around 17:30 Jane makes some very interesting comments about how cheap Jerry is when it comes to paying coaches, how much he undermines and doesn't really value his head coach. Apparently the word is out around the league amongst coaches as to how cheap Jerry really is. Man, I went from loving Jerry for many years to hating his guts the past half decade. I hate him for how much he's made me hate him. It's also clear he's really a terrible negotiator and gets fleeced in every deal, as they also touch on in this discussion.

there is evidence....Jerry said it himself, there is coaches dead money!!!! meaning, I don't care how bad a coach is, I am staying with him until end of his contract. this is twice now.

And no one has come knocking on Garrett's door since, for a HC offer. Soon, Kellen Moore is coming with no HC experience, no input to staff selection, no intent to challenge Jerry, no evidence of being a QB whisperer ......to fix the whole team. He is going to get cleared of his stay with Justin Herbert but elevated because of a talent-laden Philly team. Wait for it.

Bottom line...Jerry just plain Sucks!!! as a GM and as an Owner. He may be a good (not great) businessmen and increased the value of the Cowboys, yet he probably did not maximize the value of the Cowboys...if he did everything possible to bring a (multiple) SB to Dallas including bringing in a top 5 GM and a top 5 coach and FA's, It would cost the cowboys $100mm -$200mm more, but it would probably increase the Cowboys net value to $1b -$1.5B more.

I don't disagree but really, how much is Jane Slater making for dispensing these nuggets of wisdom?

There isn't a person alive with a functional brain who doesn't already know this.

I guess Big and Little Enos certainly qualify there as being without one

It's good that the media is starting to say the things that have been said on this board for years.
I honestly got the impression that these guys read our posts here and make go from there when they find nothing else to report on. We should charge them for it lol.

Pretty much. From the way he handles the coaching staff to the QB position. He really does treats it as his toy.

They will never find another one of these guys:

From the time I was 13 to the time I was 32, he was "the only head coach in franchise history".

There are so many impressive things that many Cowboys fans didn't know about Coach Landry.

For instance, Landry was a physical beast back in his day. He was an All-Pro CB in the 50's at 6 ft 1inch weighing 196 LBS. That is huge for a DB at the time.

Landry always kept himself in excellent condition. Any time the Cowboys played, one of the most physically fit people on that field was their HC right up to his mid-60's.

Tom Landry was a true American hero before he ever took a snap in college football at UT.

Let's look at this clip before resuming our conversation about Jerry Jones disrespect towards the value of a head coach.
