Janoris Jenkins talks Cowboys on Ben & Skin

Jenkins was pretty blunt in his assessment of the Dez match up after the 2nd game. Pretty much said he shut him down...Dez only runs a few routes and that since he's quicker than Dez, he can always make the breaks on the ball before Dez.

The QB talk isn't surprising, although this is the first time I've heard an opposing player mention it.

There was some Eagles defender on NFL Network before the playoff game that talked about how Dak didn't pick up the blitzes and adjust the protection like Romo would, so Romo was harder to defend.

Yeah another poster mentioned it earlier. I just had not seen that. What they're saying is hardly breaking news. These are things that usually improve with NFL snaps.

Your right about that nothing breaking news about accuracy you either have it or don't. Pretty easy to tell right away..dak dosent have it, but he does have other things like power, poise and leadership...

You're just making **** up at this point to further you're ridiculous agenda of crapping on Dez. How could up possibly know the interactions between Dez and Romo in the huddle? You don't. Nor do you gave any clue what routes are designed for Dez and which aren't.

He played it 13 games this year and had 4 bad ones...2 of which were against the Giants where the entire offense was shut down. 8 TD's in 13 games, not too shabby. He showed what a force he can be in the playoff game when the ball was actually thrown to him. 5 out of the 13 games he played he had 6 or less targets.

If you want to knock Dez for his inability to stay on the field recently, sure go ahead. But there's no arguing that he's still a top 10 WR when on the field.
Prove it.

Reading off my notes... Cowboys would be wise to keep Romo until they get an offer they can't refuse. Dez is a beast and will make Janoris eat his words. Giants won't win a division title for the next decade... book it.
Dez had 2 chances to make Janoris Jenkins "eat his words". Let me guess...you or somebody here will tell me it's Dak's fault.

Didn't fredbeard whiff on a Blitzer right in front of him on that play?
they all did. which wasn't supposed to happen, because romo always reads the defense and makes the right calls. at least that's what the dak haters say!

I like Dak, but I maintain that Romo is a better QB at this point in time. Dak was AMAZING - especially for a rookie. All one had to do was watch Dak vs Minnesota and NY to see how good defenses were able to make him look like a rookie at times. We couldn't convert a 3rd down during those game because he was confused by the defenses. Romo's a 14 year vet who was the top QB in football during his last healthy season. At this point in his career, he is rarely fooled by a D and his accuracy is all-time great. He came in for one series and looked as good as ever. He gave us the best chance to get to the SB IMO, but Garrett and co. made their decision. Hopefully Dak continues to improve and Tony gets a chance to show he still has it for a team like Houston.

Jack Rabbit is the 2nd CB basically call Dez out like this. Patrick Peterson said the same thing like 2 years ago after he shut Dez down. Dez needs to expand his route tree if we want to take the next step as a team. Doesn't matter if it is Romo or Dak under center.

Not rocket science to say Romo is better than Dak at this stage.
The trick is can Rono be counted on longer term?
They have a 23 year old rising star in Dak, and feel sure that they CAN count on that.
They'd prefer not to screw with that.

1. Of course Tony is better at reading defenses right now, this is a grown man's league.
2. Dak got better every single year in college, on a weak team in the powerhouse SEC. He knows how to improve.
3. Dez isn't Julio Jones or Antonio Brown. He is one tier below.
4. Dez is still a legit #1 WR and worth every penny. Teams dedicate a lot of attention to him.
5. Manning is 36, Dak is 23. Maybe the Giants should be worried about how their 36 year old QB who looked like hot garbage this year is going to be in the future.

Prove it.

You want me to prove that your senseless claims you couldn't possibly have proof of are indeed senseless? Uhh ok, sure thing pal.

You trying to compete with Risen or something by the way? I remember when you used to be a decent poster, but not you're just a pompous tool with ridiculous agendas.

The narrative of Romo's career: "If we just get him X, he'll be a Super Bowl quarterback."

Hope springs eternal in the minds of ardent Romo fans.

Not really. Just should've got him a defense, the offensive production was always top ten.

It was proven again this year because Dak put up 31 and couldn't overcome it and Dak will never be able to overcome it until we get better players on that side of the ball. It's pretty simple. Hope springs eternal when the defense is finally fixed.

I remember in 2014 when the Commanders came in and 'confused' Romo with their game plan.

Romo got hurt in that game, Weeden came in and what had worked so great for them vs Romo didn't effect Weeden in anyway. I think we would've won that game had we let Weeden finish... but no... Romo had to comeback and try to be a hero..

Gotta love the cherry picking of games in a 13-year career.

Romo was able to take the time to explain the play to Dez in the huddle.

The other issue is that the Dez/Romo success was pre-contract for Dez and he was younger.

Normally, NFL players get smarter and crafty as they age. This allows them to continue to succeed as their physical talent diminishes. Dez does not have this to fall back on as he ages, because he's never developed the knowledge for the game/scheme like most players have done in the past. I'm sure he'll still have some great plays and some great games on occasion, but he'll never be a consistent threat unless he finds a way to focus on the details.

How do you know this? I don't recall ever reading this, nor do I recall you ever being in the huddle. You surely walk around here like you know all the inner workings of the team, and what the coaches are thinking, and what a player knows and doesn't know.

The Dez hate within this fanbase is sickening

It's really the same handful of people....

My favorite one is the guy who acts like he knows all the play calls, and what the coaches are doing. Oh and conversations between players in huddles. How anyone can believe that **** is beyond me.

Dez dominated that playoff game, it sucks they couldn't pull it out. But I thought Dez changed a lot during the season. I felt like Dak had this calming affect on him

You can only run the routes the coaches call

I am not buying after all these years he doesn't know his routes. That's just BS. I am sure he'd school almost everyone on the board with what he knows. All the years of studying, and having Romo, and SL and JG and Witten and he doesn't know his route tree? Do people really believe that? I'd think Witten and Romo would've lobbied him off the team if that was the case. Seems some people just believe their own BS, or agenda.
