Jason Garrett and the Cowboys are not credible?

When the so-called credible team is embroiled in cheating scandal after cheating scandal and then awarded a Lombardi trophy for their efforts, what message does that send to the young fans of the game? Brady is suspended for his participation in cheating and now he is treated like a football god. What is credibility these days?

do the fans care? its about winning. they dont care what you have done or do. have you ever heard the league giving back a win? a win is a win is a win and no one cares how you do it. If the refs make a bad call, no one cares, if they admit to cheating no one cares.

When do the fans set the standard? Is the NFL hurt because the best fan ever doesnt buy a SB ticket? no, does it like fairweather fans who cant even tell you 5 starters on a team? yes yes it does.

Before we can answer your question lets find out where fans stand with their teams and what those teams respresent. IF Garrett represents the right kind of guy but that guy is not a winner, is he keeping his job based on his standards?

Your cynical view is just a sad commentary of the state of society if true. I don't agree. I think enough people do care how wins are won and how the integrity of the game is maintained. If it weren't for Cowboys drawing large viewership, the leagues popularity would be fading.

tell me which jersey sells more, the center who makes a line better so the team can score, or the guy who crosses the line with the ball?

Depends on which one is also wearing the helmet with the star. It's the Cowboys popularity that is keeping the viewership up. Otherwise, the league with its cheaters and domestic abusers and drug addicts are just hurting the game. LOL... just thought to myself... that sounds like the 90's Cowboys. Shhhhh!

that right there deserved a like. ty for pointing that out.

oh well, we all know there are true fans and just regular fans. THis is why they are talking about their day and we are here arguing this with people we barely know.

Wow...we are the 8th winningest team in the last 10 seasons. Doesn't feel like it with all the 8-8 seasons sprinkled in there.

Thank you, Tony Romo!

That's a stat I've sprinkled into many debates. Nobody wants to actually hear it. And it's not just Tony. We did it with an historically bad defense for a couple of those years, two. Plus, we rebuilt that Parcels playoff team (I know Wade coached in 2007, but let's not pretend who built that team) on the fly at the same time. Tony is so completely underrated by too many fans, and our team has not been nearly as bad as everybody thinks. If things work out, we might be climbing up that ladder into the top-8 in the coming seasons, as well. We're in pretty good shape now.

as far as playoff wins the dallas cowboys haven't been relevant for over 20 years now to me its what you do in the playoffs that matter that's where you get your credibility from winning in the regular season don't get a lot of play or talked about much until you can win consistently year after year and make noise in the playoffs the media and other fans really don't pay lots of attention to you because of how the cowboy are up and down from year to year most media talking heads have already moved on to either the Commanders or giants to win the division

Every time this gets mentioned, I feel compelled to point out that we've shifted from an argument that this team can't get over .500 to now saying the issue is that we can't bet playoff wins.

When we address the talent on defense, it'll be that we can't win Superbowls. When and if we win Superbowls, it'll be that we did it despite the liabilities at HC and in the front office. Or it'll be more of the 'yum. I love the taste of crow' stuff we see all the time when people have stomped up and down on their Cowboy hats and then been proven wrong. Nobody will care at that point, because, hey, Superbowl. But that's how it would go down.

Thank him for what lol?

Thanks for being good enough to not give us any top 10 picks in the draft but not good enough to overcome this teams lack of talent at some positions lol.

They are credible right now? No, gotta prove it to the league. Lets see what they do this year and next, than we ll talk. 1 and done in the playoffs with a 13-3 record does not scream credible.

I think that's a tad harsh. 2 of last 3 years with no QB sandwiched in the middle says credible just not good enough in the playoffs.....which has been a recurring problem since 96.

So he should have seen the writing on the wall and just laid down?? He took some teams with large talent deficits.....esp depth....and kept us in contention nearly every year he played. Thank goodness we had some competitors on those teams.

Too late. Can't teach an old dog new tricks. Heck, give him enough talent...maybe even Garrett can win a playoff game.

I have to agree with you on the too late part. Even with more talent, I'm suspect that if he doesn't let another coach manage the game in the 4th quarter winning a playoff game will only become a wish & a prayer.

I too, have no confidense in Garrett in the big games. That GB game, at least in the 1st half, was a coaching fiasco.
