7 seasons as HC
2 playoff appearances
1 playoff win
2/3* winning seasons (2017 could either be another 8-8 or 9-7)

2017:

Cowboys went 10 quarters without scoring a TD. Club record.
Scored single digits in 3 straight games. Club record.
Lost to a team who had more penalty yardage than offensive yardage. Club record.
4 losses by over 20 points.
8 sacks in 1 game. The most given up by any Cowboy team since 1991.

9 head coaches still have their job since Garrett became the full time HC in 2011:
6 have won Super Bowls and 7 have appeared in the Super Bowl. Marvin Lewis and Jason Garrett are the odd men out.
Hard pill to swallow...

Look sometimes you just have to put away the stats and the numbers and just use your eyes and your heart.

I saw a team under Garrett who continually shows up not prepared to play football it takes them a quarter or two quit making mistakes and get rolling. especially when they have a bye week or a lot of time to prepare they always come out what seems to be flat.
I saw a team who needed to make adjustments during games and yet they continued to make the same mistakes over and over again until, I don't know maybe Jerry called down from the Press Box and said get that left tackle the hell out of there.
Or rod quit rushing 3 and drop an 8 because the quarterback has 15 seconds to run around waiting for a receiver to open up this went on and on and on loss after loss.
Another scenario that happened over and over again was running the ball well and then Linehan inexplicably choosing to start passing the ball.
maybe it was a quarterback option based on his read maybe it was just the play call but somebody has to stop it and nobody did.
I could go on and on about coaching decisions that left me scratching my head for crying out loud.
how many times did we walk off the field at halftime leaving time on the clock?
Anyway at least two out of the three people at the top of this coaching staff have to go and I would argue probably the ol coach also.

You factor in 2 more things:

1. NFL is a .500 league so even average teams should be able to make playoffs half the time and have a .500 win percentage in the playoffs. Coach clappy does not

2. He was gifted a top 5 franchise QB who was already familiar with his system when he took over as HC. So no transition time required. Most new HCs have to draft and teach a QB, this idiot did not. I would encourage anyone to look at the playoff record of the top 5 NFL QBs in the same time, Brady, Brees, Ben, Peyton etc. It is actually difficult NOT to make the playoffs and NOT win a playoff game. Coach clappy achieved both those distinctions easily

This guy is absolute rubbish

They went 13-3 last year.

This "building" stuff has to end. We aren't the Browns for chrissakes.

Not really
It does not have to end

The FO will use this 8-8 season to make window dressing changes and get some new coaches, perhaps a D.C. and we have a lot of draft picks. So suddenly a 2018 record of 8-8 or 9-7 and no playoffs will be sold as "progress" and "young players learning a new system" and "growing pains"

Even more scary is if the team struggles and we have a top 10 pick and take the future franchise QB, now Garrett has at least 2-3 more years

Get used to it
Garrett is here for at least 2-3 more years unless the team really really gives up

I didn't expect a deep run or anything like that this year. They played great last year and had a pretty easy schedule.

I keep hearing the term "young team building".

Clappy just completed year 7 and this is still a team building?

Wow.....at this rate my 7 yr old daughter will be moving off to college by the time Garrett gets his team ready to win a second playoff game:facepalm:

You are just impatient. If you stack good days too quickly they could topple over and you're back to square one.

@BigD5 can you add your list of Garrett lowlifes in here pls. I'm going to make a graphic of all this crap and try to make it go viral.
Garrett is the only Dallas Cowboys coach ever to :
1. lose a game when leading by 14 in 4th qtr (jets 2011)

2. lose a game after leading by 24 (detroit 2011)....did a similar repeat of this later in GB 2013 game

3. The Cowboys (JG) established a new franchise low in rushing touchdowns in the 2011 season with five, which included a rushing TD by Romo himself

4. ice his kicker on a winning kick and lose the game....Arizona 2011

5. lose 3 win or go home games in a row

6. have 3 non winning seasons in a row, (tied with Campo) also coach Landry when the franchise was first created

7. go 8-8 3 seasons in a row

8. had the worst defense in franchise history

10.14.12 at Ravens 31, Cowboys 29

The first loss in franchise history when the Cowboys run the ball 42+ times (89-1)

11.10.13 – at Saints 49, Cowboys 17: Defense allows franchise-worst 625 yards and NFL-record 40 first downs in prime time

Jason Garrett’s Cowboys set team record by going 10 quarters without a touchdown in 2017

Also Jason Garrett’s Cowboys scored in single digits in three straight games for the first time in club history in 2017

Hard to swallow racking up over 400 yards and 30 points in consecutive weeks, and losing both games. It's happened 12 times in Cowboys history. 2 of those in OT. Never back-to-back, but twice in 2011, 12, 13
