LOL its not as bad as what people are saying. He can't throw it 100 yards like most QBs can. But he has perfect touch, timing and accuracy. Warner didn't have a strong arm also. But it got the job done.

He doesn't have a big arm
He was a winner in college
But lots of very bad qb's have been winners in college
What he do seem to have that many of them didn't was accuracy, ability to read and nice touch
Garrett didn't have the big arm but he was solid at what he did
I don't see Moore as the future starter and if he plays you have to adjust the offense some
But he has a reasonable chance to develope into a decent backup in this league
If it works out then you have a smart player on the cheap
If it doesn't you have lost virtually nothing

Just wanted to point out that Tebow has a winning record for the games he started and a playoff win.

His mechanics are awful which limits what he can do as a pure pocket passer and his arm is average to below average which doesn't help him any. But he does win when he plays more often than not. But really glad he is not here. Very surprised he didn't get picked up though he actually looked a lot better this preseason than he has ever looked in the nfl.

all good points which i wont discount. But for as good as he was in college, it hasnt really produced in the NFL. Now can one make the case other stuff might be going on? Sure, but Tebow, really really had some awful mechanics which no one took the time to cure. ANd yes, you are right that limited, but those mechanics started in college which were good for college, *ok they might started earlier* but they got him through college but not really in the NFL.

Yeah, Vaughn really looked bad this last game...almost like he was either tired, injured, or just did not seem to compete like he should have. But, I'm glad Showers made the PS. I know nothing about Moore.

You can't look bad in the 4th PS game and expect to stick around, especially since it's considered a garbage game.

I've seen Moore play preseason ball and he is as advertise. I watch him carve up some defenses but its preseason ball no one plays designer D this early. In general this guy is a good fit. He work with Linehan system before and he has good work ethic. I feel good about our qb depth now.

The true test for Moore comes next summer when we see if he can push Weeden off the roster.

Might be easy
Don't think Weeden is signed beyond this year is he
But I think that's they have in mind
He's a smart player with a limited arm
As long as he can learn to
Play within his physical abilities he can maybe play in this league

Kellen Moore is a project, just like Showers. Only difference is Moore has a noodle for an arm.

I don't know anything about Moore, but I distinctly recall some folks here who was comparing Henson, Romo, and Hutchinson bank in the and noted that Romo had a pop gun for an arm. That his passes always had much more air under them than Hutch and Henson. Fast forward 12 years and Romo's the last man standing.

This isn't to say this guy is the next Romo, but when we're talking practice squad, he clearly fits in the "why not?" category.

Right on the money. Several years younger than Weeden also.

It was true. Not everybody coddles players.

Well actually it's not coddling it's called leadership. Before Garrett cut Vaughn, and in private, he told him where his weaknesses are and what he needs to work on. No need to criticize him in public. It's just bad leadership and that goes for any situation in life for anyone.

Ken Dorsey and David Greene were winnners, too.

They were not projects either despite their lack of success in the NFL. The OP insinuated that Moore is a project. He isn't.
He ran a pro style offense in college and knows Linehan's system. I trust that the Cowboys know what their doing over most people here in this forum and frankly I like the signing a lot. He might even be better than Weeden.

I like Garrett's approach to cutting players that don't work out. It professional and classy compared to other coaches in the NFL.

Point taken. I was just stating that he really isn't a project and I guess the thread went off into another direction.

Romo also doesn't have a rocket for an arm either and that was one of his drawbacks when he was drafted. Like what Parcells stated. Sometimes that noodle arm kid from a small school takes it upon himself to win games over the high powered rifle arms like a Ryan Leaf. You can't really know how they perform until they get into a game and show you what they got.

Lol...and this dogface ate a ton of noodles while in the Far East. Usually with an egg and plenty of Tobasco Sauce.
