How bad is Moore's arm really? Never really watched him play just have seen countless mentions of his "noodle arm" here since he got picked up.

With him being a very smart QB, able to play with great anticipation and throw with accuracy from the pocket, he's fine as a backup. Obviously as a starter, you're always going to look for a bigger and stronger armed QB.

I'm not a workout warrior so please bear with me, but can't a player do something to strengthen their arm strength? Maybe specific wrist, elbow or shoulder workouts?

Arm strength is like punching power, you're either have it or you don't. There are certainly things you can do to improve technically, but the ceiling is lower.

His noodle is more accomplished in my opinion. I got to watch a lot of Moore while he was at Boise St. The dude was a really good QB and played at a very high level for the Broncos. I'm glad he's here.

With all that said, I sure hope we draft a QB with one of our top three picks next year.

Which is why he's a practice squad guy.

I don't know anything about Moore, but I distinctly recall some folks here who was comparing Henson, Romo, and Hutchinson bank in the and noted that Romo had a pop gun for an arm. That his passes always had much more air under them than Hutch and Henson. Fast forward 12 years and Romo's the last man standing.

This isn't to say this guy is the next Romo, but when we're talking practice squad, he clearly fits in the "why not?" category.

Because the slobbering here is ridiculous.

Actually, more of the distance and speed in passing would come from core strength. Strong legs, abs, hips and lower back make a big difference...it's why Tony struggled so much early in the year and focused so much on building his core.

I agree with this, to some extent. I can easily see a QB adding 20 yards or so just from proper mechanics and a strengthened core, but usually they should get that in college.

In Kellen Moore's case...he is a pip squeak, so no, he's never going to have a good arm.

You forgot Gino Toretta and just about everybody who played QB at Alabama.

The U after 1985, FL ST, UMD, FL. There are not a lot of programs that churn out NFL ready QBs anymore

Well not liking a guy because a bunch of fans are homering out on him is a little ridiculous. lol

Once the season starts, this guy won't even be on the radar, because we'll have real football to discuss. This too shall pass, dear.

Attitude is one of the reasons why Jameil made it. You can't hate on a guy that comes in the league as a QB, but is humble enough to switch positions if he doesn't make it there.

Brees is a pip squeak with a weak arm, yet does not seem to bother him as he put up big numbers.
System QBs can do that.
In 2011, when Brees had one of the greatest passing seasons in NFL history, he completed 3 of 9 throws that traveled 38 yards or more in the air. In 2009, when they won a Super Bowl, he was 4 of 15.
Deep ball success isn't entirely indicative of arm strength, but its accuracy and timing that have worked for Brees, in addition to having great jump ball WRs (Colston, Graham), great receiving RBs (Sproles) and a system that gets guys open so fast that the need for arm strength is less important.

Drew Brees has had had good arm strength most of career. It's starting to go some now though.

Except for being 3 inches shorter, Moore reminds me some of Chad Pennington.

Great football smarts, great accuracy, average to below average arm.
Pennington ended up having a very solid and long NFL career, so you never. I'm sure being taller helped his vision though.

I agree that adding distance under ideal scenarios is possible, not sure if that stuff keeps up when instinct keeps in. Especially since delivery and accuracy also play a part, obviously.
