Out of curiosity, when you guys read things from players and coaches who actually know what they’re talking about that are diametrically opposed to what some guys on the internet boards say, does it ever make you wonder if maybe the fans—who don’t really know what goes on—haven’t got it right?
First thing I thought of when I heard they were thinking about hiring him for coordinator jobI hope the Giant's coach starts wearing a bullet proof vest...Garrett has his switch blade in his back pocket.
OK, I admit it: I like Garrett.
He appears to be a decent, high character man.
He is also pretty good, not great, at devising a plan to attack a defense. However, if his plan does NOT work; he has zero ability to adjust on the fly. ZERO. As in NONE.
I have no idea why the Giants, who would clearly know of Garrett's limitations, would hire him to be their OC. QB coach? sure. OC? Um, no thank you.

It's just Garrett, Garrett, Garrett. I knew the plays we were going against.
no that one is on BIllP he let noone know he might retire early, he did it suddenly and without a peep..if he would have let SP and JJ know he was thinkin gthat might happen, they would have tried to keep SP and promised him the job wade got..If Jerry wasn’t here he probably would’ve had more 13 win seasons. Hell if Jerry wasn’t here we may have had Sean Payton as coach.
Not if you are family!I’m not sure what we may have not gotten right! There are plenty of real NFL people who study tape and disseminate information that have specifically stated that to a fault he never made proper adjustments at half or in game. I posted one recently. Does it ever get tiring to be wrong and to support a guy who did less with more than most coaches in Cowboys history? It’s mind numbing the depths you go to to support something that’s not there. Plenty of players have come out saying he didn’t have the team too. Are you going to wait what..20 or 30 yrs before he does something to say “told ya” like Jerry was trying to do? I thought teams were going to be clamoring for Jason. 1 interview as an OC. It’s bizarre your ex-girlfriend like commitment
Out of curiosity, do you think that it's ok to have a job for 10 years and not accomplish jack squat? You know as well as anyone that the NFL is a social country club and Garrett can talk the talk but he has not shown anyone as of yet that he can walk the walk. Your admiration of a failure is beyond comprehensible. If these "players and coaches who actually know what they’re talking about" want to invest in this mirage, so be it, however just because people in the NFL stand with this guy...hey, you reap what you sow. Have you read the things players that have played for him some of the bad things that they perceive him to be, or do you just read the good things that coaches and players have to say? Ten years, dog...ten years. Nothing to show for it...
Current and past players along with coaches have said JG wasn’t a good coach, predictable, and has poor game management, etc. Not just fans have been saying things. But continue on with that narrative.
The problem is a lot of these Pro’s don’t know what they are talking about either.
NO, they just think the coach is doing is coach speak for the fun it and they all know more than any NFL coach that disagrees with them. It's sad and funny at the same time. Just like everyone who said he would never coach in the NFL again, now it's they meant HC, which is not even close to what they meant, they just can't understand why they are always wrong about stuff so they keep rationalizing their failures. "he is not good enough to coach a HS team", "maybe he can get a pop Warner HC job", etc. Fans are stupid.
Well, at least we know he made a positive impact on a lot of player's lives. We missed out on the next Tom Landry boys.
Have you watched the games the last decade Idgit? Adjustments, specifically lack of, is one of the biggest criticisms of Garrett. Troy Aikman has said this many times on the FOX broadcast. Troy Aikman also said "this team has just bad coaching".
So is Troy Aikman not in the know? Or is it only players and coaches that compliment Garrett that are in the know and Aikman doesn't count

Plenty? Who we talking? Shannon Sharpe? I’m game for seeing the links if you have them. I do know there’s a cottage industry around talking about the Cowboys, but that’s not what I’m asking about here.
I don’t get tired at all being consistently right and consistently in the minority with my opinion. I actually sort of enjoy it.
