His strength is he talks like he knows what he’s doing. Other than that? Crickets. Anybody saying otherwise is a joke just like Garrett. Same dude who iced his kicker. Same dude who gives Chaz Green no help after 3 sacks given up. Same dude who trottedout the same offense in 2017 that he did in 2016. Same dude that has Dez running 3 routes. Same dude who had his garbage brothers on the coaching staff. That guy. F outta here

Yes you read the title correctly. I am sincerely trying to see the positives of JG as our head coach. What competitive advantage do you feel he brings to the organization?
Here we go. Fir a positive take I like his Pound the Rock philosophy. Most here laugh at it but it's used by many successful coaches. Time for some better results though.

Umm what? Jerry is on the radio twice a week giving out injury reports, scheme ideas, who is going to play.

The guy was involved in all kinds of issues last year that were distractions to the team.

In parcells first two years Jerry didn’t say anything. He only repeat d what parcells would say in press
Conferences. In 05 Jerry started talking out of school. The foundation was built though for how to win in those years.

The biggest lie of them all about Garrett is he controls or limits the Jones family. I would say it’s the opposite. They are on the radio and tv more than ever. They signed the leagues biggest villain and then called him a leader in hardy on Garrett’s watch. Not to mention all the other nonsense with Gregory, McClain etc.

I honestly have no idea what Garrett does other than act as the guy in charge of the coaches. He runs the coaches meetings and team meetings I imagine.

No idea what he does on gameday at this point. I never had a problem with him calling plays to be honest and I would prefer his offense to the supposed RPO college nonsense offense they are going to run this year.

Motivation also. He motivates the team well and clearly has the players respect. Newman and witten have both said he is the best they have played for at this. I don’t understand how they could say that but they did.
Well, you have to consider why Garrett is there. He makes a nice image, smiles and nods and stays the hell out of the way, that is the reason he was hired. Back then there was Booger & Son, now there is Booger and Booger-In-Waiting and he's going to be exactly like his old man because he's got the celebrity virus.

If they fire Garrett after this season, there will not be improvement because of the requirements of the job. It does not matter who the HC is.

His hand - eye coordination is excellent. I've never seen him miss a slab or a clap.
Nope, I've seen him miss some high fives. I think that is why he stopped and started shoving them in the pads, larger target area and it makes him look macho to shove large men backwards.

I like that JG couldn't care less why some fans think it's an insult to mock clapping. Like that legitimately has anything to do with anything.

It appears his players like him and support him.
So did Campos players. Everyone "likes" the soft teachers bc you can walk all over them. Bust a coverage/make a terrible throw/drop a pass, etc. no problem, you get clapped back to the sidelines...

He has the ability to keep the team focused through adverse situations. In 2015 when Romo went down and all we had was Weeden as a fill in we were still in every game right in to the 4'th quarter. In 2016 when Moore went down then Romo, same thing. He kept the team focused. Same in 2017 with the Zeke fiasco. The true mark of a solid leader is the ability to stay calm and collected in the face of adversity. JG has done that. The players like and respect him for the most part I think. You asked for his strengths, those are my thoughts.

His strengths are Monday-Saturday when everything is planned and organized and he can rally around this motto or that t-shirt or whatever it is that sounds like perfect ******* coach speak.

Come Sunday when it matters and those ideas that were planned and organized falls apart and those t-shirts and mottos were left at the star in Frisco...then Monday-Saturday don't mean ****.

if he don't make a deep playoff run soon the cowboys are not going to know his strengths because he will be someplace else Stephen and jerry expect a playoff run with this team so its going to be produce or leave

He’s intelligent, organized, consistent, and able to dampen the circus atmosphere Jerry insists on cultivating. He develops players well. He keeps the team focused, and they play hard.

Most of what he does poorly is massively exaggerated by upset fans. They hated his play calling, though his offenses were generally in the top ten in the league in terms of production/series. They are his press conferences, though fail to understand he does it for a very good reason. They hate his clapping...never understood why that was such an issue. Really, what they’re unhappy about is the team not going on a playoff run, and when they don’t like that result, the easiest person to blame is the coach. Personally, I don’t think he’s miss d the playoffs with a playoff caliber team until last season.
Iced our own kicker and eliminated us from playoffs on his own.
