The doctors that looked at it would be negligent if that were the case. That line of thinking is more paranoia than likely.
I'm not paranoid. I'm not even saying it's true, just a possibility. And I don't think they've let him play on it since the injury, and it's possible it's not healing as fast as expected. Not something to claim "negligence" over.

I’m going off his tape from last year as well as watching him play. He graded out (not ranking but pass block and run block ratings) in the 70’s which is pretty good, certainly much better than anyone on our roster. What did you see from his play to say he’s not good anymore? Just the fact that he’s been on multiple teams isn’t really a good sign. He’s old so teams aren’t going to sign him to a multi-year deal, he’s basically a mercenary at this point.

Here’s his tape in this thread:

I was around last year, I don't rely on tape to tell me who he is. We can just wait and see what happens, then one of us can say, "I told you so".

No, it sounds like you are grasping at straws and will just say anything to have an excuse for Tyler Smith being the wrong guy.

Let’s go! Exactly what we need. Can play both T spots and for a year or so can be a good starter.

I love that lineman can play into their 40’s cause the best of them hone in technique and the strength pretty much stays with age, mobility is the only concern.

JP is probably about 80% of what Tyron was last year. If he stays at that level, he’s a quality starter on either side. Hopefully he’s signed in time to be able to go against Tampa.

The thing that sucks about the timing here is we are probably too close to the season for him to jump right into the starting lineup. So what do you do, play Smith at LT for 2 games then back to LG? Even then does Smith replace McGovern if he’s playing well? The timing makes this thing much more complicated.

I think he will be our swing tackle and from all fronts is a great locker room guy. This will help Tyler with a great veteran presence…

Wasn't Peters the one who turned down 9 different offer this off-season?

It's nice to hear, but yeah I'm not getting my hopes up at this point...

How much money does he want. Under 2 last year. But since it’s JJ and we need a LT he will want 10..

Agreed. But maybe the holdup was on his end. His plan all along might have been to sign with a team right before the season starts.
This is what it likely was. Still waiting for Archer to tweet he left without signing and could be back after week 1

Why is it that anytime someone doesn't agree with your every word, you turn it into something personal? I'm not grasping at anything. I'm stating possibilities. If you can prove right now that what I'm saying isn't possible, go right ahead.

Maybe Tyler will play LT, and maybe he'll be even better than Tyron...Maybe not.
Maybe they sign Peters, and he plays LT until Tyler gets more experience as a pro, and gets used to the speed of the game. Maybe Peters stays at LT all season. Maybe they don't even sign him. Maybe Tyler plays LT and Peters plays LG...Maybe not.

One thing I've noticed about you is you always seem to think you know that people mean something other than what they're actually saying. I think you just like to argue for no reason. Not interested in that. I prefer respectful discussions.

I'm thinking it's probably not but you know it's very late in the game to be choosy.

I would just be thrilled if he has enough left in the tank to keep our young draft pick from getting overrun with a sprained ankle against a very good defensive line in Tampa

If he could keep the wolves away from the door and provide a stabilizing force till Tyron recovers that is really all I could ask.
:hammer:
You nailed it Boss !
