according to Goose's top 100, New England reached on their 1st 2 picks, by double-digits each...

just something to think about

I'm still surprised how high they took Chung.

Just goes to show you what we all know . . . . . and what these draft sites know. Anyway, it's fun going through the process as a fan.

Goose's top 100 is far and away the most consistent list for people to follow. I think he was at 86 out of 100 this year.

it is definitely fun, the waiting is excruciating though, esp. when they pop out the most unexpected picks, like the Buehler one, then after that you don't know what to expect

it seems like barely any team followed it this year

Williams and Mickens are easily the most talent & the most likely future starters from this draft. Bash the other picks, but bashing the Williams' pick is crazy.

Last small school LB that went from no name to combine hero was a guy named Demarcus Ware, turned out well.

I have no prejudice against small school players, nor do i care what pundits say about them, Jay Ratliff was probably the best defensive lineman in the 2005 draft but he went in the 7th round.

Bradie James has second round talent but went in the fourth while his injury prone counterpart Kevin Burnett went in the second and probably should've waited until the fourth.

If anything this new crop of LBs signals clearly to the amiable but underachieving Bobby Carpenter that it is do or die in training camp, akso the talented but aging and always disgruntled Greg Ellis will have to show up to compete for his roster spot.

Honestly I'm not thrilled with this draft, by any means at all, but i'm not as disappointed as I feared I would be after the first couple of picks today. I was swimming at my families, then had football practice for 3 hours after that, so I missed the rest of the draft but from what I see we got I'm ok with it.

Though I'm somewhat surprised by the kicker cause I thought one of the things that Mickey was spinning, all the time last year, was that you couldn't afford to carry two kickers on the game day roster and now we're drafting a guy for his kickoff ability? I guess carrying 2 isn't as big a deal as it's always made out to be, or something.

I do kind of like the pick of Manuel Johnson late. I think he's an under-rated receiver at OU so hopefuly he can turn into a nice #3 for us at some point.

It wont be long before Jason is starting alongside James. Book it. He can blitz too. Future everydown player.

nice sig.

I don't think it matters where we get players as long as they contribute something to the overall success of the team.
