i agree completely

Well, yeah, and, I will actually kneecap (see what I did there) my own OP intentionally here. If I was advising Witten, Ben Johnson is going to get a HC job elsewhere. If Witten wants to coach in the NFL, he should call his old teammate Dan Campbell (who helped him early in his career and can help him now) and see if he can join the Lions coaching staff. After a few years under Campbell, I think he'd become quite a head coaching prospect for us. Imagine if we get him biting kneecaps for us.

I mean, I'm not saying to make Witten a HC right away. But, I think he can develop into a good one in the pros. I think he'd be well served to start as a TE coach. I know the Joneses are a problem, but do you think the Lions front office was much better than what we have before Campbell? Mind you, his first dead was awful, but you could see the change in culture beginning in 2021. In say, 2019, what did you think of the Lions FO? Maybe if Witten can become our version of Campbell, he can overcome the Joneses the way Campbell has overcome the Fords.
im going to give you two things, because you are a nice guy.

The truth and the only answer possible.

Buckle up.

So, firstly, below is his record as a HS coach since taking over in 2021.

https://www.nfl.com/news/11-time-cowboys-pro-bowl-te-jason-witten-coaches-high-school-team-to-state-title#:~:text=Liberty Christian is a kindergarten,26-10 in three seasons.

I think Jason Witten is an intriguing option. Based on a previous thread about Jerry talking about Witten as a potential NFL coach. He's got a good record as a coach in high school. What if we had him as OC?

I think Vrabel, Ben Johnson, or Glenn at HC and Witten at OC would be intriguing options. I, for one, would be intrigued to see it. I think Vrabel at HC, Witten (who knows Dak) at OC, and Bones at ST would be a fascinating coaching room. I could see that room developing a physical team. I would sign up for that actually.
If you bring in Ben Johnson, his strengths are play design and playcalling. I wouldn't want anyone else to disrupt that.

No just no. Offense with No YAC and always short of the first down. No thanks.

Right, and the idea is for Witten to learn either from Campbell, a Campbell disciple, or Vrabel. Someone that is technically of the Parcells tree.

I believe the Dallas Cowboys should also be known as NFL Head Coach breeding grounds for former Cowboy TEs. The first Cowboy TE to be a HC would be Mike Ditka ( Chicgo Bears), in Detroit that would be ( Dan Campbell ). Next up on that list should Former Cowboy ( Jason Witten ).

I agree. And I think Witten should start as a TE coach either with us or Detroit.

Landry invented the flex defense
Go study and learn. Arlington Jonesboys fan.

Landry invented the 4-3 defense. Because he gave the defense to Vince Lombardi to use in Greenbay who's offense was design to beat the 4-3 D Landry changed and invented the flex 4/3.

Cowboy fans should know these important things. Landry was so smart and innovative with the flex defense, no one has used it since Landry was fired by Jerry Dumbo GM Jones.

Well, yeah, and I looked at Campbell's history:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Campbell

I think it definitely could work. But I would probably say that his first job should be TE coach with Campbell. As much as I want him here, he should start as an intern or TE coach with Detroit under his old teammate. Then, if he's what I think he is as a coach, we can bring him in as HC. That way, he can learn NFL coaching from the guy who taught him how to be an NFL tight end.
I am glad you finally got to right conclusion that I explained because I am right.

Belichick as headcoach and Witten as OC assistant HC. 3 year plan for him to be HC.

He is in HS for some creative seasoning.

Sean Payton is responsible for the coach Campbell became. Don’t get confused
In 2010, Campbell began his coaching career when he was hired by the Miami Dolphins as a coaching intern. In 2 011, Campbell was promoted to the tight ends coach.

In January 2016, Campbell was hired by the New Orleans Saints as their assistant head coach and tight ends coach under head coach Sean Payton.

The question was asked should the Cowboys hire Jason Witten as OC.
Don't get Confused
