EXACTLY, well said.Realistically though, what else is he supposed to say when asked how Dak has progressed?
Strong endorsement........,,
yup...so that statement by 82 is impressive. Now Dak has to prove him right on Sunday or its meaningless. Its really encouraging.I think #82 knows a thing or two about QB'S.
Strong endorsement........,,
What do you think he's doing when he comes in early and leaves late? Sweeping floors?while I do like hearing about Dak's great leadership skills,,,, over and over again,,,, what I really want to hear about are his great strides in passing the football.
I know, what does one expect to hear from one teammate to another. deep down though we all know he misses Romo and that High Octane passing attack rather than get 2nd rate passing from Mr. Mediocre
“I think when you add the guy like that and then he gets suspended and you never know how it’s going to come out,” Witten said. “The guy works his tail off. Our job is to welcome him and show him the way we do things and embrace him as a teammate, and he’s done everything that you want. He’s a hard worker. Obviously he’s a talented player. I think he’s learned a lot from what he’s gone through in the last year. He’s had a good offseason.”
Didn't Witten already endorse Prescott from camp? Did the Joneses ask him to do a little selling?
I really do not recall anyone here, even the Dakaters, question his leadership or work ethic, his consistency with regards to accuracy has always been the issue and I don't see that addressed here.
However, we will get to see that on display shortly so I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt and that Aikman might be wrong and accuracy can be improved.
"It doesn't matter how tough you are. It doesn't matter how smart you are or what a great leader you are. None of that stuff matters if you can't put the ball where you have to put it. I've seen too many errant throws in that regard, and then there needs to be a little more anticipation.
"When there's two deep safeties, you're looking for somebody to take the middle of the field, and that should be your first read if you have somebody who is taking the middle of the field versus those kinds of looks. I don't see great anticipation on what a defense is doing and how might I be able to exploit that pre-snap or as the ball is snapped."
Jason Witten on Greg Hardy, which included a lot more ‘detail’, as provided in the link.
I think what Aikman's comments may not take into account is that accuracy isn't just in the physical throwing motion, it's also in the mental side.
Hardy was considered an excellent teammate in Carolina and initially in Dallas. It wasn't until there was 24/7 national media calling him Hitler that he melted down. Pre-"Hardy is Charles Manson" was a player the Carolina coaches pushed to resign, post-"Hardy is Charles Manson" was the problem.
Yeah, because there’s no middle ground between what Witten said and “eviscerating” Dak.Wow, this was a shocker.
I was totally expecting to hear eviscerate Dak on Twitter.
