Jason Witten on Terrance Williams

I never want to hear craytons name again. He alone is the reason there is so much scrutiny on Romo. Back to seattle game..everyone blew up the field goal bobble, but what happend on all those 3rd n 4th down conversions that were dropped. Smh Romo fought so hard in that game and he gets a career of scrutiny.

You may hear it November 10th.

If he's already better than 2011's version of Laurent Robinson, I'd be thrilled.

Yeah, the Cowboys should have kept that dude...he was electric with Romo.
He was not the same player after he left.

And, I cannot really remember why the let him walk?

Measuring against

2007- Sam Hurd
2008 - Patrick Crayton
2009 - Patrick Crayton
2010 - Roy Williams
2011 - Laurent Robinson
2012 - Kevin Ogletree

It isn't saying too much

End the thread here. It is not exactly high praise to get excited about.

Because those passes to Crayton were the only plays that mattered in the Giant's game.

It's all about Romo. It's no longer the Dallas Cowboys. It's Romo, and then there are a bunch of guys that let him down.

This is getting very old.

Crayton is just not a popular player with your average fan who still thinks he is the only reason we lost to the Giants.

There have been bigger goats during the Romo era that hurt the team far more than Patrick Crayton, yet they are not mentioned with the same amount of derision.

I keep hearing that Jason Witten said that Williams is the best 3rd receiver we've had since he has been with Dallas.

Does anyone actually have a source for this? Not that it would be all that difficult to achieve.

Here's my question: How do you descibe Terrance Williams as a receiver? In other words, is he a speedy receiver or a possession receiver? Is he a threat to take it to the house from anywhere on the field, or is he more of a chain-mover?

He's got sneaky speed. He can only run about 4.48, but I believe he had the most big plays in college football last year. So far reports in camp have been that he can do it against the camp competition. He also made a lot of midrange acrobatic sideline receptions in college which can help bring that cb tighter allowing him to get by them.

The truth hurts I guess.

Terrence Williams career with Romo in Dallas should eclipse the above.

If a rookie came in and equaled Robinson's 2011 season (15.9 ypr 11 TD), then yes there would be plenty to be excited about. The only rookies who have done it in the last 50 years were Hayes, Jefferson, and Moss.

That's why I'd be shocked if Witten actually said Williams is already better than Robinson was in 2011.

Sometimes it's better to agree to disagree.

Do you agree?

Sometimes. But in the context of this being a team, and to some this is merely Tony Romo and nothing more, I don't agree. I've been following the team since day one.

Sort of difficult for me to put one player above the team as so many here do.

No kidding. My favorite was when he stopped on the deep route that was an easy walk in TD to win the game. Dude just went to sleep in the middle of the play... Lol. I think it was against the Giants... Was never a fan of Crayton.

Robinson snuck up on people. No one knew who he was. When miles went down every defense said, "make this Laurent guy beat us." and single covered him. As for why we did not keep him he got offered #1 WR money, he would have been stupid to turn it down, and Jerry would have been stupid to offer more especially now with the concussion issue the kid has.

That's right. And people forget that due to all the inuries to Dez and Miles, Robinson rarely if ever was the WR3. He received WR2 targets and got the weaker coverage ....that is why is numbers were so good.
Also recall that Dez then was nothing like Dez now. Romo trusted Robinson much more.

Still, he was non-existent before Romo and then again after Romo. Connect the glowing dots on that one.

Loved having him on the team though.
