No change in guaranteed money and can free up $4 million this year if they want, yet idiots here are still whining about this deal... somehow.

Only 10 tight ends had more receiving yards than Witten this year, in spite of the fact that he's 80 years old and glacially slow. He's worth keeping him around even if you hope to phase him out in the next season or two.

Wit's numbers were down in 2016, but so were Dez Bryant's and Terrance Williams. Only Cole Beasley saw an uptick in his stats. The more comfortable Dak gets in the NFL, the more complete this offense will be.

Witten could easily play out this contract, in my opinion.

Irrelevant to what I said. You asked how he limits the offense. Something everyone should already know. I answered. He can't run. He can't stretch the defense. He makes the offense easier to defend.

I'm looking for someone who can do all that and threaten teams down the field. An upgrade from a very average declining player.
If you're not thinking future ROH, then you're a realist! This is probably the greatest signing ever. Let it wash over you like a warm bath.

Highest paid TE position in NFL belongs to Dallas Cowboys. Here is hoping that group actually performs like top 5 unit.

Time to start thinking about his retirement exit. I'd play him 50/50 with the other TEs, and next year it'll be more like 30/70. No offense to the hof guy, but we just need speed all over the field.

Too bad you're always on the computer crunching salary cap numbers.

little do you know my favorite place is starbucks with a beautiful water/sunset view with lots of cute girls (no bikinis though).
besides it only takes about 1 hour per model or so.

why ? don't understand this move at all

•Brandon George reports that the four-year deal is worth a max value of $29.6 million, but includes no additional guaranteed money.
•Ian Rapoport points out that this is really just a cap-related move that will reduce Witten’s 2017 cap figure and not do much else.
•According to Archer, Witten’s cap number in 2017 remains the same and there was no guaranteed money added to the deal. This gives the Cowboys the option to restructure his contract later to gain some cap space.

ok

Not true. There is not another TE in this league that can get open on a curl like he can for a seven yard gain when you need nine.

Too bad we don't have a coach that has the balls to go for it on 4th and 2..

Best O-line in the league...Top 5 RB...QB that can run the option....yet still would rather punt and

not any more but they hate insulting their players by asking them to be fair

it took them 5 years to ask Carr for a rebate, they kept bringing Free back and their idea of loyalty is paying Romo 34m for 5 games the last 2 years and then helping him go to another to try and beat us
