Witten needs his playing time reduced dramatically.

He hurts, not helps, the offense.

Leadership qualities, mentorship etc.. valuable no doubt, but not having a more dynamic player at that position makes life much more difficult for every other member of the offense.

If you're defense is a 'work in progress' and your team is competing in today's NFL than you better have your offense at an elite level. Easiest way to do that if your Dallas is to make the TE position a downfield threat that has to be accounted for.

As good as they were last year, make TE more of a threat and this offense explodes.

As always, JMHO.
Looks like this thread has snuffed out a Giants fan. Go back under your bridge Mr. Troll.

No problem. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't me that was misrepresenting the information.
No I think you had the verbiage right but the point of your post was what I missed (basically that Revis was going to get paid 6 million one way or the other. The only way to entice him would be to pay him more than the 6 million per. Which I agree with your stance. I'm not paying the guy that much money and I'm sure as hell not paying him more).

You nailed it, I missed it. My bad, brother.

Thought this would be his last year. Guess not.

Actually, he could probably be the player he is now for 5 more seasons.

You're referring to the 'it's the stupidest thing I've ever seen, but I'm trying to reserve judgement' nature of his post?

All part of the master plan to make other teams think they won't take a TE in the first round and lull them into a false sense of security and then BAM with the 28th pick in the 2017 NFL draft the Dallas Cowboys take TE....

They'll wait to the second round if history is any guide.

"Toruk_Makto, post: 7276301, member: 34854"]What if....get this...he loves football?
True.

Also,
Revis needs to play, in order to prove he can still ball, in hopes of securing another multi year contract. I think he would do this, as opposed to just sitting on a couch, lowering his future value.

With his style of play, he could probably play for those 4 years. Hopefully he will retire as a Cowboy.

Guys who love football don't show up to camp 20 pounds overweight like Revis did last year.

Revis loves money more than he loves football. Unless he's offered more than $10M per year, I don't think he comes back. He can make $6M just sitting on the couch.
