horrible throw though, made him almost come to a stop.
I agree with your post but, you said it yourself, Jones held Brady's #1 target to 67 yards. End of discussion as far as I'm concerned.
Three of Gronks four catches came when the game was on the line in the second half. Even Garrett admitted those were some big catches. Hard for me to be impressed by anyone's performance when you get blown out 30-6.
The game was on the line and he STILL held him to 67 yards in a 30-6 blowout in the second half? O.K. MENSA member?
For similar context, it was Gronkowski's least productive non-injured fantasy football game since losing to the Seahawks. Three games affected by injury with worst days are: 1) 2013, week 8, 2nd game back from all the arm and back surgeries; 2) 2013, week 14, game he tore his ACL vs the Browns; 3) 2014, week 2, 2nd game back from ACL surgery.
KJJ embarrassing himself again. Worst game in 3 years? Hmmph

61 of Gronks 67 yards came in the second half when the game was on the line. Giving up 3 catches for 61 yards in one half with the game in the balance isn't very good. We focused so much on Gronk we allowed Edelman to have a huge day.
You have some on this board ready to move on from Witten. If he's done like some seem to think he is Byron Jones may not be the answer at safety.

That also means Jones held Gronk to 6 yards in the first half. Name me the last player in the entire league that did that. I'll wait.
I would say the indictment would go to the guy covering Edelman, not Gronk, eh? Jones did his job better than anyone else in the secondary if you're going to use that perspective, no? Just stop dude. Now, you're just talking yourself into a corner of stupid.
It's because they look at his speed and not what makes him great. He's the type of player who never had much speed and has lost some of what he had, but his ability to set up defenders and subtly push off at times continues to get him open.
He held Gronk for one half and the score was 10-3. He didn't hold him in the second half and it contributed to the blowout. You have to play for 60 minutes. If you're getting frustrated with the discussion move on!
I'm not frustrated at all. I'm having a blast exposing your lame arguments for what they are. Lame. You could pick 5-7 other games to expose some of Jones' flaws. You picked the wrong one and you're making yourself look like a fool in the process. Why in the world would I be the frustrated one?
He runs good routes, but that isn't what makes him so dominate. What makes his so dominate is how deceptive his route running is. (he isn't that fast at all either) His route running skills make it easier for QBs to connect with him. He gets off the ball, and he gets to EXACTLY where he is supposed to be at EXACTLY the right time. Losing the defender for him is all about being deceptive so the defender doesn't know where the ball is going before he gets there.
Telegraphing routes is the easiest way to get your QB picked off.
The Cowboys could do nothing offensively in that game so Brady wasn't having to look for Gronk, he was able to spread the ball around. While we were focusing on Gronk, Edelman was putting up 120 yards. Most of Gronks catches came in the second half when the Cowboys still had an outside chance only being down by 7 at the half.
If I'm not mistaken most of Gronks yards came in 1 catch that was an illegal pick play that took Jones out the play. You take that catch away and Gronk doesn't even have 40 yards. I agree with you Jones shut him down and wasn't until an illegal pick made that 67 yards betterI'm not frustrated at all. I'm having a blast exposing your lame arguments for what they are. Lame. Brady was getting hit repeatedly by Hardy in the first half. Then the pick plays started. It had nothing to do with Gronkowski.
