I found this posted a while back somewhere, can't remember where. But it is just a good reminder why we say that his faults are conveniently overlooked sometimes. Do you remember any of these?

Here are the playoff games he choked away:

2007 NFC Title game against Giants - last INT set up the Gints' game
winning score (2 picks thrown in the game)

2004 WC game against the Vikings - got blown out, and had a MISERABLE
game (4 picks thrown in the game)

2003 NFCDG @ Philly - his pick in OT set up Philly's game winning FG

2002 WC against *Atlanta* - had a miserable game in the SNOW(Falcons
ain't no cold weather team!) (2 picks thrown in the game)

2001 NFCDG @ Rams - threw *SIX* picks, THREE of which were returned for
TDs (6 picks thrown in the game)

1995 NFC Title game @ Dallas - his pick late in the game enabled Dallas
to drive for the game sealing score

1994 NFCDGs @ Dallas - MISERABLE (1 pick)

It might have ended that way, but after 4th and 26, I don't think you pin that one on Favre.

I agree with you. I didn't go through and check every one of these, I just found it and gigged a Packer loving friend of mine with it after their loss to the Giants. :)

LOl---it is the same song just a different verse of what you have been singing. Of course you would love the post.....I can feel the ground swell of support your are getting for his "pretty good" QB rating. Keep it up and you may have 4 or 5 on your Support Bus by the end of the day...

Actually that persons post was COMPLETELY different from what I was saying. Many props to them.

If true, thus ends one of the greatest careers I have ever had the privilege of watching. Some may hate Favre. I thoroughly enjoyed the way the man played the game.
......................................................Spot on!! Couldnt have said it better myself. One of the true greats in sports.

The guy had his ups and downs and his interceptions came at some bad times (which INTs dont). I still cant figure out if I cant stand the guy or like the guy.

Ive got to be the biggest Cowboys fan on the planet..."If you only knew"...LOL Anyway, even after saying that, I would still take Favre over Aikman 10 out of 10 times. With a coach that had a strong hand like Holmgren was, Favre was damn near unstoppable. Never had the talent Troy had around him either. Hey, Troy was a GREAT QB, but imo he was a system guy. He needed the guys around him. When everything was right in the world, no injuries to self or teamates, Aikman was like a machine, he simply didnt make any mistakes. BUT...............When a key position was out injured, Troy was nowhere near as good. Now Brett on the otherhand, he just had that way about him, that IT factor. He could will a team to victory when he had to, in fact he did it MANY many times. THAT was the difference between Favre and Aikman.

Wow, my friend... I think this is the first time I disagree with you. You would take a better decision making QB that worked in his system over a gunslinger?

Wow..... where do you live again ? ;)
Good seeing ya.

.............Good seeing you too bro! Well, reread my post...........Remember, I said with a coach that had a STRONG HAND like Holmgren had when he was with the Packers. Ive always felt like gunslinger types. ala Favre NEED those types of coaches, to help them from flaking out...:D Favre, with a stong willed coach was REALLY something to see. I never thought he was the same after Holmgren left. As a sidebar,.......can you imagine what Favre would have done under Jimmy Johnson, with our old O line, Irvin, Novy, and Emmitt???????WOW!!!!Would have almost been unfair!

I read that part LOL

I just disagree... while Holmgren may have some control of Favre... it wasnt much... not enough. He used to give Holmgren fits... remember?

Favre has looked exactly the same to me since the early 90's. You mean to tell me that when we played them this year and he started chucking that ball up and away and anywhere regardless of where the defenders were... you werent thinking of flashbacks from Cowboys-Packers of the 90's?? The old Brett Favre "meet the old boss... same as the old boss"

Favre and Jimmy could have never worked.

Aikman threw 165 touchdowns in his career. Favre threw 442, FOUR HUNDRED AND FORTY TWO...... As Ive said, Aikman was a great QB but.......even with us having Emmitt, and Favre playing quite a bit longer, thats STILL a huge difference. Night and day IMO. He threw 277 more touchdown passes than Troy did. Thats way more than Troy THREW period....LOL He personally accounted for 1662 more points over his career than Troy did. Wayyyyyyyyy too big of a disparity to be so easily discounted IMO........

WOW! IMO, Favre may not have had the OVERALL talent that Troy did around him but during his most successful seasons he always had plenty of help! Methinks you're giving Goober too much credit!

..oH i AGREE. Favre looked like pure dog doo doo in his game against us this year. But..............I look at the entire body of work, to me that was some pretty good duty. Plus..........I highly doubt I will in MY LIFETIME see anyone break his record for consecutive games played. Favre was alot of things.......but that was one tough son of a witch. Well, not witch, but you know....LOL

Let me ask this question right now, to all concerned..........There is a minute fifty seconds left in the game, your at your own 25 yard line and down by 4. The crowd is hostile, their blowing your eardrums out. Your left tackle has been put out of the game and one of your starting w.r's has a bad wheel. WHO do you want leading your team on that drive, Favre.........or Aikman???Im taking Favre every time, and twice ON SUNDAY!...LOL

I'm not taking a side, but if you're going to compare Favre's TD numbers in total to Aikmans you also have to mention that Favre played in almost 100 more games than Aikman did, and never had to give way to the running game.

In fact, during the course of Favres ENTIRE career, his team rushed for more than 15 TDs only ONCE, with Ahman Green leading the way with 15 TDs in 2003 - the only such year for the Packers during Favre's tenure. OTOH, Aikman shared a backfield with the greatest TD-producing RB of all time, and his team only scored LESS than 15 rushing TDs in 4 of his seasons.

........................Agreed 100%. I just see Favre as MUCH MORE of a playmaker than Troy was.

wasnt it fitting that favre's last play was an interception that cost him a chance at the SB? Favre i respect him for everything he accomplished but his failures are way overlooked considering all anyone talks about is how the QB has to take care of the ball. He was great but not top 5 all time. also i'm glad all this garbage of will he retire or not every year is over! anyways still congrats Favre on ur career!

If you really want to get into that then.... take some of total TD's that Emmitt scored on because Aikman let him score(instead of throwing a 4 yard pass) by rushing and do the difference on the amount of years Aikman played compared to Favre.... THEN add in the fact that he was a pass happy gunslinger....

what do ya come up wit? :D
