Ratliff going out the back door accusing and blaming. I for one am glad he is gone. So was it Jerry who made him go out and get a DWI that night right after one of his teammates killed another due to Driving Drunk? Maybe it was the doctors fault. Doesn't sound like a RKG. My memory of him is now always tarnished. Somehow I think he will heal quickly.

He was a good player...not a great one. Not sorry to see him go. He's been nothing but trouble the last few years.

sipping on some coke & crown, toasting to the defense.. his release is more valuable (as a example) to the young team we have...

Actually, ABQ, if you studied any psychology at all, you'd know that punishment/reward has little impact when it is temporally divorced from the behavior being punished/rewarded.

Funny you would say this with everyone being able to judge your own "simple minded animal" on the board.

Oh I have. I just am not a blind follower of what some professor professes to be accurate. I actually deal with people for a living and understand the difference between what actually works and what is taught in a class room.

I am absolutely comfortable with how I am judged. I guess you might say I follow my own ideals. Be my guest, do your worst.

At the end of the day, you still compared Jerry to a person who owns people and Ratliff to a dog. That's on you man.

Bob Lily
Randy White
Russell Maryland
Leon Lett
Jethro Pugh
Tony Casillas (arguably)

Rat was a good one, but some of you people have very selective memory. He wasn't THAT good. Settle down.

I'd add the following:

Glover, Dutton and Cole.

For him to blow up at Jerry and almost come to physical blows with him, something definitely was going on behind the scenes that I'm sure will come to light down the road. I think Ratliff had no intentions of every playing another snap here after last season. I think that goes into what you said about the DWI. Just weeks after Brent's killed their teammate. He just didn't care. Some made mentions he may have been bi polar of some kind. And you never knew which Ratliff would show up from day to day.

This relationship became toxic in a hurry. Sad to see it end like this but my feelings remain the same. Good riddance to him.

There has never been any information that Ratliff had any history of mental illness so mentioning Bipolar is uncalled for.

no.. It doesn't. If you don't understand the cap, you probably shouldn't speak to it. Your just confusing people.

If we're already in the hole for next season and we just added 6 more million of dead money, I guess it doesn't affect us. I'm glad that's cleared up.

No such thing as being underpaid and I'm not sure how one could consider that a competitive advantage. If it is, it sure hasn't shown up in the Win/Loss columns.

My only regret with Ratliff is that we played him out of position at NT when he was actually good. There is not a chance in hades anyone can convince me he was ever a true NT. What a waste of a perfectly good scheme and a perfectly good player.

I thought he played a 3 technique in the 3-4 post Parcells.

Man there is really something wrong with the league when you can sign a guy to a contract, get physically pushed around by him and still have to pay the guy the full contract even though he did absolutely nothing to earn it. He ought to at least have to clean Jerrrys house or wash his car or something.

Funny Werder tweet

@Edwerderespn: Wonder what Jerry Jones would think if the GM who spent $18M guaranteed on Jay Ratliff was someone he hired for job instead of himself.

It was arguably Jerry's worst "GM move" ever (at least as far as it applies to players).

Anyone not think that d-line won't be a focus in the draft last year?

If you have deja vu, you're not alone.

Nonsense. We were going to spend that 6.x million either way, BUT we were going to have a starting defensive tackle in exchange. Now that 6.x mil is dead money.

Were we? You mean like this year?

Yeah, I was really looking forward to getting back a 33 year old DT that has recorded 5.5 sacks in the last 3 years and had clearly quit on the team. There is no way Ratliff is a FA today if during that meeting he's saying he's committed to coming back to the Cowboys better and stronger than ever.

I'll take the dead money and move on.

Draft McCuller's out of Tennessee late in the 3rd or 4th if he's still available, please.
