For ROUGH comparison:

Cowboys - 1st round 'equivalents':
2010 - Dez
2011 - TSmith
2012 - Mo
2013 - TFred
2014 - Martin
2015 - Jones, Collins, Gregory (likely bust)
2016 - Zeke, Jaylon (knock on wood), Dak

Steelers Hall of Famers - 1974 epic draft put them over the top:
1969 - Joe Greene, LC Greenwood (pro bowler only)
1970 - Terry Bradshaw, Mel Blount
1971 - Jack Ham
1972 - Franco Harris
1973 - JT Thomas (pro bowler only)
1974 - Mike Webster, Lynn Swann, John Stallworth, Jack Lambert

Compares Nicely

I cut my thumb with a band saw in academy and it took probably 2 years to get good feeling back in that area of my thumb. I thought for a while that I'd just never feel that area of my thumb ever again. But slowly and eventually it returned even though u can still see the cut years and years later lol
About 20 years ago I cut my middle and index finger tips

I still don't have full feeling back

Hardy wasn't big money. It was a very team friendly deal for one year.

I wish we re-signed him; I wish he didn't hit that clipboard and display such public insubordination. It is what it is, I need to let it go.

Every time I see his name it kills me to think what he would be doing on this D with a full training camp and if the coaching staff had been able to reign him in after a full year in our program (admittedly, big if).

Just my opinion.

He just got arrested for coke possession a few weeks back. That sure would have went over well as a Cowboy.

Read my last paragraph, not just the first sentence.

Knew this would rile some of y'all up, I cringed as I posted it. But I have an opinion and I will speak it.

Let it go guys, it's gameday and there's better things to discuss, it was a passing opinion more directed @Sydla than an invitation to debate me on the merits of Hardy and his character.

This isn't the thread for such a debate, let's not derail it further (sorry OP).

Let's just hope they follow up in 2017 with at least a solid draft. That would really get this roster in order. 2 successive good deep drafts. No need to get cute or trade premium picks to trade up.

You have to remember medicine and medical knowledge have come a long way since Robert Edwards played in the NFL.
ACL tears used to end or radically alter careers in Gale Sayers day. Now, players are back to full strength within a year.

I'm praying for this kid everyday, Tyke. I have faith, brother, like many of y'all.

He is attacking his rehab like a force, he will make it back to the field. There's almost no doubt in my mind (call me naive, but I just know it).

Like you said, Tyke, sports medicine has never been so advanced as it is now, and it continues to evolve and grow. And as a Dallas Cowboy with such high expectations placed on him, he is getting the absolute best rehab and sports therapy, and doctors in the field.

Lol..all I said was that your opinion is wrong..

Are we gonna do this, Glory? Did you purposefully skip my further posts on the subject?

You replied with a two word response that had no weight or thought put into it. Anyways, let's stop, mmkay?

Yes it was a 1 year deal for ~$13M that paid him for the games paid, which was the team friendly part.
The amount paid was reduced to ~$8M due to his suspension - based on limited recollection.
I believe after the 1st or 2nd games back, team was looking into an extension because of his initial impact.

Waldo, sorry for derailing this thread.

And thank you for creating it (this thread), I love reading all the responses (namely from yourself and @FuzzyLumpkins -- that dude is a master of Smith's progression, and it seems you've put a lot of thought into it as well).

Again, apologies, brother.

CB WR LB DE SS DT/1 Tech

I dont believe Marinelli will go for a 350lb 1 tech without quick twitch...
We do need one though.
Our DTs at best are 310lb I believe

If Jaylon recovers I believe our highest priorities are DT, WR and CB.
I would sign FA DE for big money and make CB and WR highest draft priorities.
Dont think we can afford to keep Mo given his likely salary and we need a FA DE badly.
We still have 1 SS (Frazier) under contract next year.
LB would be a luxury given our other needs.
We also need backup G and RT that we can develop assuming Leary leaves and Green cannot stay healthy as a starter.
