RELEASED Jaylon Smith released

Yep, so we already see what is transforming. The Jaylon apologists are going to hate on Cox and point out every mistake he makes when he does get out there. They will claim that Jaylon would have made the play.

Cowboys fans...........unreal.

No, you and others like you are void of understanding. I've always stated that he should have never been signed by the team.

But while he was on the team, he was not the worst LB. Now that he's gone, good; but don't act like Dallas has some stud waiting to get on the field.

16 million in dead money:facepalm: C'mon Jerry? REALLY? Even best scenario has us eating 11 mill.

Very surprising at this point considering we had an out before March and also restructured his contract. I think he was headed for more reduced playing time with Neal coming back. Perhaps Cowboys gave him an option? Hey we can keep you with a further reduced role or move on?

The timing is just strange when he was having a better season over last and there was no financial benefit to cutting him now. Coaches either felt he was a big liability and taking up a spot or Jaylon just didn't want to play a reduced role.

I think this makes a lot of sense.

Don’t understand why this is so difficult for some that they are creating fake scenarios about an argument or him being upset over a lack of playing time.

Super simple stuff. He gets hurt the we owe him 9.2M in a year where we are already in the red salary cap wise. Playing a guy limited snaps isn’t worth the risk of major injury. You already made a mistake resigning him, so why prolong it even further/chance a worse mistake? Once the team was able to be confident about the play of other LB’s then Jaylon became expendable. Plus they see Cox in practice and probably have a strong idea about his readiness. He was very good in the preseason.

People who question why we didn’t keep him for depth or bench him incase injury are out of touch with the reality of football. Even if you’re paying him, you don’t just ice him if he’s healthy. You release the guy and let him get a chance to play. Other than the end of a season when a team is already out of contention, no one just sits healthy vets for 12 games. Give the guy a chance to move on to a new team.

Plus Smith is obviously the slowest LB on the team while having issues playing gaps. Gifford and Bernard offer higher upside at this point.

Thank you! Thank you and thank you! This is spot on a thousand times! Damn it’s not that hard to understand!

With your permission I am just going to copy and paste this as my response to any debate. LOL!

Jaylon was no stud either. So what exactly is your point?

Hey Mods...could you please drop #54 from my name sake to IceStarD. My self made torture should end with the release of Jaylon. Thank-you.

Would love if you could change my misspelling to Omaha as well if possible on my tag there lol.

Great post

:lmao:

I feel bad for all the fans that bought into the hype and own a 54 jersey.

This is why I will always say "Never wear another man's Name on your back." Not only because your own family name is MORE important but also because the other one might not be as good as you think.....!!

Some bottom of the barrel idiot acting like he is the big dog? Nobody wants a fool like that around.
This quote reminds me of when he went on twitter and on camera to complain that the was robbed of a pro bowl nomination. The 2 players that got nominated for his position where literally 2 hall of famers....... (Bobby Wagner and Luke Kuechly). The amount of arrogance and delusion is unbelieveable

Ok your right but remember this people get married only to realize it’s not working. People make mistakes in life, in business and in sports. The team had no idea that they would have Parsons on the team. Also if Jaylon blows a knee out Sunday, he is not just paid through next year, we would have to hold a roster spot for him. They made a huge mistake and realized that they need to get divorced!

That’s all I’m talking about. The “huge mistake “ they made.

I give them credit for admitting it, but also blame for making it in the first place.

Your hero just got expunged!!!!!

You were his #1 fan. Dont ever talk to me about football again. :espn:

My guess is that a lot of the Lawrence Fanboys are sweating bullets right now. Probably checking to see if Lawrence has money guaranteed for injury next year. If he does, he might not be back this year.
