What benefit is there to lie and say that they need to fix the backup QB spot (and pass rush) and not really mean it?
You tell me. Jerry said one thing and Stephen the exact oppposite about drafting a QB early.

The team doesn't care one iota if they send clear signals or not prior to the draft. Over the course of the pre-draft period, they probably answer most questions in more ways than one. Garrett answers one way, Stephen another, and Jerry yet another. They're fine with that.

I'll argue that romo breaking his collarbone once as opposed to twice would have had the same affect

As far as dez is concerned...rushing him back early isn't going to change the final outcome...if the injury ruins him for long term, it's probably due to the original injury...but I feel pretty good that dez will be fine

It comes down to opinion and my opinion is the re break of his collarbone placed a little more urgency on finding his replacement rather than just focusing on getting a solid backup. The fact the Cowboys offered a #2 and #3 to try and move back into the first round for Lynch tells me they probably would have taken Goff or Wentz had either been on the board. I really don't believe they would have made the offer to try and get Lynch had Romo not re injured his collarbone and was able to play out the rest of the season. Had Romo not re broken his collarbone he might not have had the preventative procedure on it. Re injuring his collarbone twice made everyone reevaluate the situation.

As for Dez you know as well as I do that if he struggles to regain his form in 2016 everyone is going to point to him playing on that foot and that it may have caused some irreversible damage. Like I pointed out he himself said on Twitter he shouldn't have been playing on it and that he did it for the fans. He was clearly embarrassed by his play he wasn't the same player when he returned. Let's be honest neither him or Romo looked very good returning from their injuries. Although we beat Miami Romo didn't play all that great and was DREADFUL vs Carolina before he was injured. It certainly didn't help much bringing either player back and it's left some questions entering the 2016 season.

In fact, the last thing they want to do is send a clear signal of what they intend to do prior to the draft.

I cant believe people fell for that Jerry lie,QB was the no 1 priority in the draft for us and will continue to be so till we find our next franchise QB.We would have drafted all 3 QBs that went in the first RD if we had the chance ,,tthey love Lynch but didnt think he was worth the 4th pick.the sad part is i dont think next years QBs are a great bunch compared to this year,we got a dual threat Qb as the no 1 Qb next year.
