I have been seeing people here say get Jeanty !! lol
So I looked at his HL reel for 2024 , and my first thought, was this guy is another duece, only he has big thighs, and that enables him to run thru tackles at times,
But these are college guys who will never make the nfl. When Jeanty hits the pros, he wont be running thru tackles, and he wont have giant holes, and it will all be different.

I dont think he is a round 1 or 2 pick, maybe 3rd or 4th at best.

The other thing is dallas had no clue how to use duece, so I would have no reason to think they would know how to use Jeanty.
Dallas needs a standard size RB, that they can use in a standard way.

I thought Duece had potential, but not with cowboys. This Jeanty may have potential, but only with the right coaches and team.

What do you guys think??

My only problem with Jeanty is that he's got A LOT of miles on the engine in college and High school. he's had problems against good defenses albite less than others. I like you agree he to me is a bottom 1st round Talent to top of the 2nd round. I personally do not see any difference in his running than others in the draft. he just was the entire offense at boise.

For those who are ballyhooing Jeanty, just remember the number of folks that were raving over Kellen Moore's 50-3 record at the same Boise State.

And how did he do in the NFL? I'll wait.

Jeanty played teams like Utah State, Washington State, Wyoming, San Jose State, and Nevada, to mention a few. So he played great against lower-level Division 1 teams, he won't have many of those games in the NFL. Like for example, in the bowl game against Penn State, it took Jeanty 30 carries to get 104 yards. How many touchdowns? Nary a one. Take away his long carry of 26 yards, and he averaged less that 2.7 yards per carry. Now sure, Penn St was a very good team, don't expect Jeanty to get 250 yards against them.

But great backs find a way to make yards, regardless of the opposition.

Not that I'm saying with 100% certainty that he'll be an NFL bust. I'll give him a chance, like most any player. Just advising caution...

But I would also note I gave Randy Gregory a chance, and again, how'd that work out? Had a few good games but was cut after multiple chances to do well. And I liked Gregory, but liking has nothing to do with evaluating his potential in the NFL.

I agree, not a first rounder, second at best...

So did LT and Faulk who are hall of famers from weak college conferences

I think Duece is far superior. Jeanty would be lucky to make the practice squad on a Canadian team.

Jeanty is 5-9 which could be 5-8 and 215 lbs. Has good speed, not sure how fast he is, I did see some that caught up to him.
He ran thru a lot of tackles, which wont happen as much in the nfl. And everyone is faster at NFL level.
I dont think he will be a bust, but he wont be as prolific as he was in college.

you cant judge these guys by stats, it is better to use the eye test.

I thought Henry was the RB to take instead of elliot, and I liked the RB detroit (name escapes me lol) picked over Bijian.

Not sure how you can compare the best rb in the draft to a guy who only got drafted b/c his dad is on staff and has a grand total of 114 yards rushing in 2 seasons. Jeanty will probably get that week 1 in his first pro game.

Jeanty weighs more than Dowdle. He is an every down back. He's a sturdy guy who's only 5'9". Same height as Emmitt. Jeanty's success or failure in the NFL won't have anything to do with his size

Your take is ridiculous. Jeanty is one of the best players in this draft.

To his credit MM found Deuce on the roster last game and he can be a 3rd back on game day change of pace , swing passes in the flat .

This is a sold draft for backs . Much rather see McClay bring a blue chip defensive play wrecker to join the front 7 round one .

Dylan Sampson Tenn big time school 6’0 200 Lbs speed can catch passes be perfect sidekick to between the tackles Dowdle to give Schott the running game he wants to implement damage .

Find Leupke as well Brian S .

not sure why i am defending Jeanty but he also played the no 1 team in the country Oregon and had 200 yards and 3 TDs,there are legitimate concerns about his workload(755 carries in college is almost double of most of his contemporaries) but he has elite traits.
