Jeff Heath almost killed Ricardo Lockette

For the geeks who like to see what we are talking:

I dislike Heath on another level when I see him on defense. He is terrible as a safety. Slow, can't cover and misses tackles. I wouldn't be sad if I never seen him on defense again. He can stay on special teams but that's the limit. He's bad, real bad

Heath is one of the toughest dudes on this team.

I wish he was better in coverage. But, after seeing him hold back Hardy, constantly scrapping on ST, and drilling Brandon Jacobs when Jacobs was running over our guys for years and then shadowboxing the FG post.. I like the guy.

I've warmed up to him to as our 3rd S after giving him a lot of grief. I like that attitude and speed on the team.

There really isn't much drop off between Heath and our other safeties... the 'angle' that JJ Wilcox took at the end of the Philadelphia game at home last year was the worst I can remember in any game...
I mean, I haven't seen that in 17 years of coaching little league for crying out loud.... Back to Heath, I agree, he should be more of a ST ace... but we are way low on talent there until the official B. Jones position switch.

What's interesting is how Golden Tate celebrated his hit on Sean Lee in comparison. I don't recall anyone going after the Seahawks QB.

Yeah that's a good one right there.

I don't remember Heath blowing up Brandon Jacobs. Anybody got a link??

I wish someone would have pulled his arm just to test that theory. I don't wish injury or harm to any player......but stop trying to oversell the drama just to get some extra sympathy......especially when you play for a team known for physical play and some serious cheap shots over the last few years.

I remember that play. When Lockette was lying there motionless I was worried that he might be dead. Sheesh. I'm glad he's okay.

There's no comparison between Church and Wilcox. Church is no speed demon, but he doesn't make a fraction of the mistakes Wilcox makes. I am a clumsy 50 year old who on a good day has run a 5.75 40. But I am overly confident I can make Wilcox miss me on my first move. He is that bad.

There's got to be some way we can make this happen if we really put out heads together.

Heath's the kind of guy that doesn't (and shouldn't) get a ton of reps on defense, but man he's the RKG for all the dirty work - special teams, etc.

I used to blast the kid, but I like him. That hit on Ricardo Lockette was legal and good football. And the flattening of Brandon Jacobs was just amazing.

When did that hit on Jacobs happen? I need to see that lol, and well yeah Heath delivered a big legal hit, also delivered a good block on the punter against the pigeons, clean as well.

It was a while ago, like 2013. I can't find anything but he got stood up like a brick wall and laid down.

Heath isn't a bad backup Safety at all, imo. He's a smart, scrappy player, who just isn't great in coverage. He is a very good STer, and every team needs that. Reminds me of when we had Keith Davis for awhile.

some around here forget we need players of his caliber too. He plays hard on every snap but comes from Saginaw State or something like that and was a long shot to begin with. He has made the most of his chances I will give hime credit for that. Lockette is ok thank goodness.
