Every team has a few Jeff Heaths.

Fans expect way to much at the end of the roster.

I just remember the media claiming that Dez was celebrating the hit, which he never was. And people wonder why Dez has issues with the media.

I also remember people claiming it was a dirty hit. I didn't see it that way and neither did the league as they never fined him for it. It reminded me a bit of Scott Stevens' hit on Eric Lindros years ago. I was surprised that Lockett didn't quite see him and at first glance it looked like a good hit, but when you see it in slow motion it was far more violent than it originally looked.

He wasn't fined but that idiot Blindino still claimed that it was illegal.

Just read an article. Seattle Seahawks WR/return man revealed that Jeff Heaths hit on him severely damaged his neck, and if someone had even pulled on his arm after the play ( trying to help him up), he would have died. That must have been some hit.

May have died. The reason for the placement of a cervical collar is for the provision of stabilization in the case of fracture. Movement may compress or even sever the spinal cord, with the the potential for catastrophic consequences.

But no one knows for certain what the outcome will be in any given case.
Hyperbole even exists in medicine.

He ranks right up there with Hayden as the most despised player on this team over the last couple of years and it's not at all deserved. I'm not saying he's great but I honestly root for him because of that. I thought it was hilarious that in 1 game his 2 interceptions ended up leading the team for the entire season. And how much worse than Wilcox is he? He's not but I really do hope they get a guy to play next to Jones. Actually they need 2 guys because I'm tired of watching Church too

Stuff happens in football. Too bad Bennett's brother is such a d*&%. He blatantly went after Cassel's knees in the 4th quarter as payback. He was fined for it. Imagine if it was Romo playing. There would have been a brawl.

Exactly. The overreaction of that hit is ridiculous. It was a clean hit. He didn't blindside him, he squared him up. Just unfortunate what happened but it happens in football.

Heath isn't a bad backup Safety at all, imo. He's a smart, scrappy player, who just isn't great in coverage. He is a very good STer, and every team needs that. Reminds me of when we had Keith Davis for awhile.

Landry rule applies.

I saw it as he could have killed him but he did the right thing and met the force coming at him with just a tad more force making sure he was on the right side of the equation. He could have put his all it and possibly ended twp careers. Lockette's got to get his head up and on a swivel.

Heath is one of the toughest dudes on this team.

I wish he was better in coverage. But, after seeing him hold back Hardy, constantly scrapping on ST, and drilling Brandon Jacobs when Jacobs was running over our guys for years and then shadowboxing the FG post.. I like the guy.

I like Heath more than Church and Wilcox easily.

Heath led the team in picks in limited playing time. If he is terrible on coverage everyone else is still relatively worse than he is.

I like the Saginaw Valley State product. He runs in the 4.4s. Has 4.3 shuttle 6.8 cone. 37' on his VJ. 10.5" BJ. 22 reps on the press.

He is an NFL quality athlete and he hits like a truck. Top ST guy and his all around game gets better every year. He is the best backup S we have had since Gant and Bates ran around.

With Byron back there, the SS doesn't even need to be great in coverage. Byron is going to do all the heavy lifting in coverage. The SS should be a strong run support guy and a playmaking rover in the passing game.

There's no comparison between Church and Wilcox. Church is no speed demon, but he doesn't make a fraction of the mistakes Wilcox makes. I am a clumsy 50 year old who on a good day has run a 5.75 40. But I am overly confident I can make Wilcox miss me on my first move. He is that bad.

With Church, I agree that he's not terrible but they could do better, That's just me. I know everybody agrees on Wilcox being horrible. He takes the worst angles I've ever seen
